The Young and the Restless spoilers has some exciting news to pass on about an upcoming addition to the show. CBS Soaps In Depth is reporting that actor Jeffrey Vincent Parise is joining Y&R as a new character named Simon Black, who will first appear on canvas on Friday, November 1st.
There’s not much known at this point about the character of Simon Black and who he’ll interact with on screen, but he’s been described by Y&R as “a charming and dangerous stranger who visits town to settle unfinished business with someone in Genoa City.”
Could this be someone from Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) past, perhaps from when he was operating as the card shark named “Spider” on the Las Vegas gambling scene? It’s possible that Simon is someone who Adam beat big in a high-stakes poker game and has a score to settle. That could lead to trouble for Adam and might unravel his plans to take down the Newman clan.
Or perhaps Simon is someone involved in the challenge against Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will. Y&R viewers saw recently that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), the Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) lookalike who is leading the will-contesting charge against Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), has a secret contact with whom she’s been speaking by phone. It’s possible that Simon could be working directly with Amanda.
You may recognize Jeffrey Vincent Parise for his role as twin brothers Carlos Rivera and Joe Rivera on General Hospital from 2013-2016, and his role as a detective on Days of Our Lives back in 2007-2008. He’s also appeared in numerous primetime TV series in guest spots, including CSI: New York, Mad Men, Supernatural, and 13 Reasons Why.
But Jeffrey’s roles aren’t limited to TV. He’s also appeared in numerous feature films throughout his career, including The Love Witch, Welcome to the Family, and BFFs. And he’s also an accomplished artist whose paintings have been exhibited in Los Angeles galleries and throughout California, as well as a performer whose ensemble came in 3rd place on America’s Got Talent back in 2012.
