The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Monday, August 12, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will take Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) good gesture and use it against her. As Y&R viewers know, Chelsea brought Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to see his father, and they ended up spending the night at Adam’s penthouse.
As it turns out, Adam and Connor’s visit will go amazingly, until Adam asks Chelsea to let Connor come live at the penthouse. He’ll argue to a stunned Chelsea that it’s “his turn” to care for Connor, which won’t go over well. When Connor walks in on Adam and Chelsea arguing, the sharp kid will get the picture that his mom doesn’t want him spending a lot of time with his dad.
As they arrive back at Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) house, Connor will lobby his mom hard for the two of them to go live with Adam. Connor will quickly figure out that Chelsea doesn’t want him with Adam, and he’ll accuse Chelsea of trying to keep them apart. Nick will arrive, and Connor will deduce that his mom wants Nick, and not Adam.
Still, Chelsea will promise Nick that she’s not planning on leaving with Connor, and that she’ll stay and deal with the situation. Besides, if she decides to run, then not only will Connor never forgive her, but Adam would just end up finding them. Of course, the situation is going to be complicated, since Connor is clearly going to take Adam’s side in any dispute over where he should spend his time.
While Chelsea isn’t going to try to keep Connor from Adam, she will have to assert her authority as custodial parent, which could be tough, since it looks like Connor could wind up telling a judge that he wants to live with his dad, which would be a disaster for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Monday, August 12, Adam will have a business proposition for Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). He’ll offer Devon the opportunity to buy the Grand Phoenix Hotel. Devon will know about Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) attempts to buy the hotel, but Adam will say it’s too risky to do business with Phyllis. Later, Adam will happily announce to a stunned Phyllis that he’s offered the place to Devon, but Devon hasn’t reached a decision on the proposition.
Finally, on Monday’s episode of Y&R, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will experience some side-effects from his treatments, as he becomes weak and struggles to get himself to a chair to sit down. He’ll get a visit from both Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Nick, and he’ll be dismayed to learn from Nick about how Adam told Christian Newman (Alex Wilson) that he’s his father.
Victor will tell Nick that he regrets bringing Adam back from Las Vegas, and he’ll vow to intervene and do something to help with the situation. Nick will be curious about what his father has in store, but Victor will say it’s better if he doesn’t know about it. Later, when he’s alone,
Victor will be shown on the phone with someone telling the person to do something and that his grandson’s future depends on it.
According to Y&R spoilers, Victor’s actions will involve getting a restraining order so that Adam can’t see Christian…something that will certainly start World War III with Adam. Look for a big legal fight coming up soon, as Adam fights back hard against what he sees as completely unfair treatment and attempts to deny his rights as a father.
