The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Thursday, December 26, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) will prepare for the holiday at Nick’s place. Summer will learn that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will be joining them for Christmas, and she’ll promptly call Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and tell her that Adam’s going to be there.
Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will chat at the Grand Phoenix about their upcoming vacation in Telluride. Victoria will have just said that she wants everything to be perfect when Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) walks in and makes eye contact with Billy.
Amanda will introduce herself to Victoria, and it will come out that Billy and Amanda know each other “from around town.” Phyllis will then come along and invite Amanda for a drink, telling her privately that no one should have to suffer through Victoria. They’ll order drinks, and Amanda will put it on her tab, noting that she’s paying it forward since she hasn’t had to buy her own drinks lately. Phyllis will want to know who the guy is.
Across the lobby, Billy and Victoria will continue chatting, and they’ll reflect on their wedding day, since today’s their anniversary. Soon, Victoria will remark on how well they know each other, which will prompt Billy to tell himself that there’s so much more that she doesn’t know about him. They’ll leave to go pack, with Amanda watching.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Thursday, December 26, Phyllis will head to Nick’s place, where she’ll tell him that she didn’t know he was inviting Adam, and that she’s not going to spend the holiday with Adam. Nick will wonder why she isn’t friends anymore with Adam, but Phyllis won’t offer any details at first, but after a little prodding, she’ll say that Adam wanted her to seduce him, which will seriously irritate Nick.
Nick will fume, but Phyllis will say that they shouldn’t be surprised. Nick will be peeved that Phyllis didn’t tell him about Adam’s proposition sooner, and he’ll be totally disturbed about Adam sinking to a new low. Nick and Phyllis will end on decent terms, and Nick will say that he’s going to use this information as ammunition against Adam, and this time Adam’s not going to win.
Next, at Jabot, Summer will arrive to find Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) in the office. She’ll wonder what he’s doing at the office when it’s closed. Theo will think she’s accusing him of something, and she’ll insist that he’s there for some other reason. Theo will then admit that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) invited him to spend Christmas Eve with them, but he didn’t feel much like either an Abbott or a Vanderway these days.
Summer will say that she gets it, using work to escape from family issues. Later, Theo will pitch a marketing/social media idea to Summer, which she’ll love. She’ll give it the green light, and Theo will wonder if they could get Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) in the loop. Summer will say that she’ll handle it, and Theo will wonder if she’s trying to minimize his contact with Kyle while maximizing hers.
Summer will then realize that Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) is the reason why Theo doesn’t want to spend the holiday with the Abbotts. She’ll accuse him of not wanting to watch Lola and Kyle together, which Theo will deny. Theo will throw it right back on her and say that she’s wishing her theory was true so that she can have Kyle for herself. Before he walks off, she’ll tell him that the truth will eventually come out.
Next, at Adam’s penthouse, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam will wrap presents for Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Adam will broach the idea of taking Connor and Chelsea to his mom’s farm…tomorrow. Chelsea will insist that they can’t go because they have plans at Nick’s. Chelsea will think that he’s just coming up with an idea to get out of going to Nick’s. Adam will persist, and he’ll say he’s doing this to make the day special for Connor.
Chelsea will say that she can’t go, and Adam will ask if she’s afraid to go there because of things she might feel, since it’s the place they started their life together. Adam will say that he’ll never forget the way she looked at him that day, and that he’d give anything for her to look at him that way again. He’ll then say he loves her, but she’ll say that he’s confused. Adam will go on about their connection being everlasting.
Chelsea will say that they’ll always have a connection and of course she feels something for him, but that she loves Nick. Adam will be miffed, and they’ll establish that they’re not going to the farm, and Chelsea will think that they shouldn’t go to Nick’s, either. She’ll say that things are different now, and Adam will ask where she’s going to be on Christmas morning – there, or at Nick’s.
Finally, at their house, Victoria and Billy will hurriedly pack, and Billy will tell Victoria that this vacation is exactly what they need. Then he’ll get a text saying that the big deal he’s working on needs attention. Victoria will be upset, and she’ll offer to postpone the flight, but he’ll insist that she and the kids go on without him, and he’ll catch up later. As they hug goodbye, Billy will think to himself that he may never be able to be the man that Victoria needs, and that he never wants to lose her.
