The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Week of July 8 Preview – Paul Grills Phyllis – Adam’s Desperate Plea – Christine’s Shocker

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of July 8-12 tease that some surprises are in store. First, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will bump into Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell). She’ll be with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) in the park, so the four of them will have an awkward chat.

Y&R fans know Victor filed a lawsuit against the GCPD, which is hurting Christine’s campaign for reelection. It seems Christine has a plan to get a better grip on things. Victor will call her “Madame Prosecutor” and suggest he’s heard about some big announcement. Christine will admit she indeed intends to address the public, but she’ll likely stop short of sharing her latest news.

It’s possible Christine will step aside and allow someone else to take the reins as district attorney. Then again, Christine may announce some fundraiser or other major event that’ll blow everyone away. Her plan might be to get the public invested in her leadership – and of course, get her name buzzing around town.

Regardless, Paul will let Christine do her thing and he’ll focus on his own. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Paul will spot Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) while she’s out for a jog. He’ll corner Phyllis and insist he’d like to hear a lot more about this vacation of hers.

Paul just won’t buy that Phyllis recharged her batteries with a getaway. He’ll push Phyllis to tell him the truth about why she went MIA, but Phyllis may keep quiet and preserve her alliance. She has to keep Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) happy to hold onto her Dark Horse gig, and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) works for Adam now. It would be in Phyllis’ best interest to keep holding the kidnapping secret over Kevin’s head anyway.

Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will make another pitch to Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan). Calvin Boudreau’s (John Burke) sudden death will leave Chelsea rattled, so she’ll decide to stay at Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) place. However, Adam won’t stand by and let Nick make his move. He’ll show up on Nick’s doorstep ready to win back the woman of his dreams!

After Chelsea requests another conversation alone with Adam, Nick will leave the room. That’ll give Adam a chance to make one more pitch for their future. He’ll contend that Calvin’s death has left them with no more roadblocks. Adam will believe they can get back on track now and be the way they were meant to be.

Alas, Adam isn’t going to get his wish – at least not yet. Chelsea will be pulled in Nick’s direction, which is sure to make the war between the Newman brothers even worse. We’ll give you updates as other Y&R details emerge. Stay tuned to the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news.
