The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Week of October 7 Preview - Victoria Rages Against Victor - Quits Newman, Defects To Jabot?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers weekly preview teases that Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) anger and ambition will be on full display in the coming days. The new Y&R promo for the week of October 7-11 is all about Newman family drama, and in particular the renewed conflict between Victoria and her father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

In the promo, Victor is shown telling Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that it’s time for him to make a bold move. Victoria has been dealing with the tremendous fallout that Newman Enterprises has been dealing with due to Victor faking his own death. As Y&R viewers will remember, Victor led the public (and some members of his own family) to believe that he had died.

Of course, the whole thing was a ruse to get Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to confess to double-dosing Victor’s medications. But since the public – including all of Newman Enterprises’ business partners – believed Victor was dead, it really threw the company into turmoil. In the business world, perception is everything, and for Victor to have pulled such a scam on everyone caused major upheaval.

Well, Victoria has been CEO throughout the conflict, and from all accounts she’s been handling the crisis situation like a total pro. But now, Victor will think that things would be better, and more stable, if he were to return to Newman Enterprises in the top position. So, he’ll decide to return as CEO and demote Victoria to COO.

And that won’t sit well with Victoria at all. She’s shown in the promo skewering Victor’s portrait with a letter opener, then ambitiously telling him that she should lead Newman, and that if he refuses to consider it, then he should consider their relationship over. Victoria will feel that Victor only put her in the CEO position in the first place to make a statement to Adam, and that it’s wrong for him to take her away from the helm, especially when she’s been doing such a stellar job.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Victor is going to budge at all on the issue, and he’ll be determined to return to Newman as CEO, no matter how much Victoria protests. And while all this is happening, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will get an idea. He’ll offer Victoria a position at Jabot – something that Victoria will seriously consider.

In another piece of the promo, Victoria’s heard saying that she’s going to come after Victor with everything she’s got, so it doesn’t appear that she’s going to be content with being demoted to COO at Newman. Rather, these seem to be the words of someone who’s decided to compete against Victor, so we just might be seeing Victoria defect to Jabot and launch a new family war – something that will upset Nikki terribly.

In fact, Nikki’s shown in the promo angrily telling Victor that he needs to pull the family together instead of pushing it farther apart, and she has a point. It seems that lately, Victor has been seriously discounting the needs and feelings of his family members. Where the death ruse is concerned, he’s totally discounted the psychological impact on his family, especially on Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).

And now he seems to feel that he can just move Victoria to a new position without realizing that his actions convey a lack of concern for her feelings. He’s setting fires right and left in his family, and we’ll see this one with Victoria really rev up this week.

It looks like we’re in for a dramatic week, so stay tuned! We’ll give you updates as Y&R news comes in. Stick with the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates, and news.
