The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, October 7 Recap - Victor Takes Victoria's CEO Job - Connor's Breakdown Over Adam

The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, October 7, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be hard at work saving business deals when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) arrives. He’ll think that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is lucky to have her in charge. But at the Newman Ranch, Victor will be telling Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that he’s returning as CEO of Newman Enterprises.

Nikki will naturally worry about Victor’s health, as well as how Victoria is going to react to the news. Victor will remark that he’s not actually taking her job away since he never handed the company over to her in the first place. He’ll plan on keeping her as COO.

Meanwhile, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will arrive at the Abbott estate to see Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). She’ll need support, which Jack will give. She’ll lament about the recent goings-on with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), and the Newman family. Victor will then show up wanting a word with Summer, and he’ll proceed to explain why he had to fake his death, but Summer won’t be having any of it. She’ll ultimately leave upset.

Afterwards, Jack and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will sit down to work on their Abbott family book. Jack will want to include both the bad and the good, as long as they treat Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) life with respect. They’ll discuss Jack’s recent insights about Dina, and they’ll be pleased with what they’ve accomplished this far.

Meanwhile, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will tell Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) that he hasn’t heard from Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard), who’s off searching for Chance Chancellor (John Driscoll) and trying to get answers about the will. Elena will think that the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony for his New Hope building will be a good break for him given the recent stress of dealing with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).

At Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) house, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will announce that she won’t be attending the New Hope gathering, as she’s keeping Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) home from school today. Later, at Nick’s suggestion, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will drop by to offer some advice for Chelsea in dealing with Connor.

Chelsea will reluctantly accept Sharon’s help, and Sharon will talk with Connor, who will refuse to discuss Adam. Sharon will think that he’s protecting himself emotionally. Chelsea will again consider taking Connor and leaving Genoa City, but Sharon will think that it would break Nick’s heart. Chelsea will agree.

Later, at the New Hope gathering, Victoria will be asked to comment on a rumor that Victor is returning to Newman Enterprises as CEO. She’ll seek out Victor at the event and he’ll confirm, greatly upsetting her. She’ll complain that he must have given her the position to hurt Adam, and that he keeps using her and letting her down. After she storms out, Victor will think that she’ll get over it, and Nikki will complain that he needs to start pulling the family together, not pushing it apart.

Finally, back at the Newman CEO office, Victoria will look angrily at her father’s portrait, then throw a letter opener at it. She’ll say, “You’re not getting away with it this time, Dad.”
