Countess Sophie Speaks Out On Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Exit - Offers Kind Words & Well-Wishes

British royals news reveals that Countess Sophie Wessex recently had some things to say about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from royal duties and their new life in Los Angeles. Countess Sophie has said that she simply wants the couple to find happiness.

Sophie, who is married to Prince Edward, told The Sunday Times: “I just hope that they will be happy,” referring to Harry and Meghan, who recently moved to Los Angeles and have been living at Tyler Perry’s mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Harry and Meghan reside there with their nearly 13-month-old son Archie.

Countess Sophie, who had a middle-class upbringing much like Meghan Markle, went on about her own experiences in joining the royal family: “Remember, I’d had five years to adjust,” she said, referring to her long courtship with Prince Edward.

Sophie continued: “And for our six-month engagement, I was even staying in Buckingham Palace. Not that you necessarily know how it will pan out.”

Sophie was reportedly close with Meghan Markle when Meghan and Prince Harry lived at Frogmore Cottage. Sophie and Prince Edward’s Bagshot Park home is just 10 miles apart from Frogmore Cottage.

“We all try to help any new member of the family” Countess Sophie said, although exactly what kind of help Meghan may have received was not revealed. Countess Sophie was spotted looking friendly with Meghan Markle at the annual Commonwealth Day service in March in Westminster Abbey.

Might we see more focus on Countess Sophie now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stepped back from their royal duties? Sophie was certainly busy in 2019, when she carried out 236 official engagements, which is considerably more than Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William, or Kate Middleton.

At any rate, Countess Sophie’s kind words for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are surely appreciated at this point. Be sure to check back here at CDL for more British royals updates and news.
