Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) will soon reach her wit’s end. As viewers are aware, Kayla and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) have been having a difficult time lately because of the situation that’s unfolded with Steve’s son Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams).
Kayla firmly believes that Tripp raped Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), and Steve has come down on Tripp’s side. That’s not making things around the Brady/Johnson household very pleasant these days.
Well, it doesn’t look like things are going to get any easier for Steve and Kayla in the weeks to come. As DOOL viewers know, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) is back in Salem, and for the time being she’s staying hidden and out of sight, but that’s going to change over the coming weeks.
In the new Days of Our Lives winter preview, Ava is shown actually in Steve and Kayla’s apartment.
In a shocking turn of events, Steve and Kayla are shown in their living room, when Ava walks out of the hallway and happily says, “Hi, Kayla!” The circumstances behind Ava being in the apartment looking all at home remain to be seen, but something tells us that this could have everything to do with Tripp.
Perhaps Ava will have some intel on exactly how Tripp’s DNA could match Henry Horton’s (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) DNA without him having been with Allie.
If that’s the case, then it would make some degree of sense as to why Steve and Kayla would just allow Ava to be anywhere near their apartment. Of course, another reason as to why Steve and Kayla might be “nice” to Ava has to do with their son Joey Johnson (James Lastovic), who’s currently in prison for killing Ava.
Steve and Kayla may need to tolerate Ava so that she’ll make her presence known to the authorities and save Joey from further imprisonment.
Given that the new winter preview also shows Joey getting released from prison, it’s a near certainty that Ava will have something to do with it.
We’ll see what happens, but the winter preview also shows another shocking scene – of Kayla trying to strangle Ava in the living room and Steve attempting to break the whole thing up.
Just because Steve and Kayla need to be civil to Ava doesn’t mean that it will be easy on them! After what Ava did to Joey in the past, and after how she kidnapped Kayla and terrorized her, it’s understandable that Kayla won’t want to peacefully coexist. It should be a real challenge.
It will be interesting to see how the whole Ava situation shakes out, and exactly what Steve and Kayla have to do for Ava to get her to get their son out of prison.
Ava might want some assurances that she won’t be prosecuted for her crimes, so Steve might have to try to pull some strings. Whatever the case, there are certainly going to be some tense moments for Steve and Kayla!
