Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s still an important mystery to mull over. Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) recently had a heated confrontation with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), which answered some crucial questions.
It confirmed that Charlie is Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) assaulter as well as a half-brother to Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams).
Ava is Charlie’s mother, but he was raised in “Philly” by his father. That’s where the lingering mystery comes in. Who is Charlie’s father – and is he really Charlie’s biological dad?
Knowing Ava, she easily could’ve lied and passed the baby off as someone else’s. In other words, the fact that Charlie was raised by this man doesn’t mean they have blood ties.
Of course, it’s possible Charlie was indeed raised by his biological father – a new character that’ll be revealed to DOOL fans later. However, we might as well dig a little deeper and explore the possibility that Charlie is related to someone else on canvas.
It was strange for Days writers to specify that Henry Horton’s (Jayna and Kinsley Fox) DNA would only be that close of a match for Tripp or Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). It seemingly hinted that Charlie would have DNA from the Johnson side of the family, but DOOL just ditched that detail in the end.
Sometimes that happens as storylines move along, so Days of Our Lives spoilers hint there might be tweaks to another storyline, too. Could Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) be Charlie’s bio dad?
Jake previously used the name Jake Lambert and started working for the mob in “Philly” about a year and a half before he showed up in Salem.
Naturally, that doesn’t tell us what Jake was doing many years ago back when Charlie was conceived! Jake could’ve had a fling with Ava or even been in love with her.
Maybe Ava broke Jake’s heart when they were younger and caused him to move away to escape the pain – not even knowing he was leaving behind a child.
Without any way to get in touch with Jake, Ava might’ve just convinced some other guy she slept with that Charlie was his kid. The man Charlie believes to be his father may not be his biological one.
As for Jake, perhaps he later returned to Philadelphia looking for work. Jake might’ve been drawn to “Philly” as somewhere he once called home.
It’s just interesting that Charlie was raised in “Philly,” where Jake was living right before he landed in Salem. There has to be a connection here, so it could be as simple as Jake having Vitali mob ties or as complex as Jake being Charlie’s biological father!
If Charlie turns out to be Jake’s son, that’d make Charlie both an Alamain and a DiMera. It’d be an intriguing twist, especially since we know Vivian Alamain (Linda Dano) is headed back to town. Maybe Vivian could connect with her villainous grandson and understand him like no one else.
