Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) recently offered updates on his last episodes and when Sonny will officially exit Salem. Smith likes to keep fans in the loop through his podcast on YouTube, but he made a mistake in a previous video. Fortunately, it was a good mistake if you want to see a little more Sonny in Salem!
Smith talked about how his calculations weren’t quite lining up with what was hitting the screen, so he went back and checked again. The DOOL star ended up finding some extra airdates that he’d previously missed, so he revealed those along with his final one.
Days fans can catch Sonny on July 29 as well as August 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 19, 20, 28 and 31. Then, Smith will exit the role of Sonny on September 1 – at least according to Smith’s best estimate. However, there’s a chance those last few airdates could actually be a bit off, including the final one.
Days skipped some preemptions that threw off the schedule, so just keep that in mind. That skipped Labor Day preemption in particular has caused some confusion, so Sonny may end up exiting a day earlier.
Regardless, September 1 is what Smith is predicting, and it’s at least good to have an idea of when his official exit is. Smith opened up to viewers about staying in touch and answering questions as we get closer to his departure. The Days of Our Lives actor also offered a little hope for Sonny’s future at the NBC soap.
“I wanted to make sure as I’m exiting the show – maybe temporarily, maybe permanently – everything’s up in the air, I’m not sure,” Smith admitted. “But I wanted to make sure that I answered all your questions and I wanted to give you some behind the scenes of what’s happening during these final days for Sonny.”
Smith seems excited for fans to watch Sonny’s last episodes, but he offered a warning. Sonny may have a cheerful name, but some dark times are ahead for the character. “I gotta tell ya…it’s not all gonna be sunny…sunny stuff!” Smith said.
Of course, Chandler Massey is also set to exit as Will Horton, so it seems likely his remaining airdates will line up with Smith’s. Days of Our Lives spoilers say this is all building to an emotional “WilSon” departure, so DOOL fans won’t want to miss the gripping scenes ahead.
