Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that major changes are happening at the NBC soap. According to Daytime Confidential, multiple sources are reporting that DOOL Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng has been fired. Meng has reportedly been given the boot by Corday Productions, so this news is really shaking up the soap world.
This is a huge deal for Days and could be a sign that more changes are brewing. Meng has been with Corday Productions for over 30 years, but these are uncertain times.
Due to the pandemic and shutdown, everyone’s having to figure out what soap production really looks like now. DOOL is facing added challenges as they prepare to resume filming and obey all the necessary safety protocols.
Up until this firing, Meng shared co-producing responsibilities with Albert Alarr, who’ll continue to serve as a co-executive producer – at least as far as anyone knows. We should note that Meng was also the vice president of Corday Productions.
Meng was beloved among the cast, so this is undoubtedly a real bombshell for everybody connected to the show. The now former co-EP was the brains of some big operations, including the DOOL app and the web series featured on it.
Meng was partly responsible for making all that happen, so it’s clear that he’s a forward-thinking guy who seemingly would’ve been beneficial to keep around.
Nevertheless, Days of Our Lives will have to find a different path forward – one that Meng isn’t part of. Meng commented on the show’s upcoming return to production in an interview with TV Insider mere days ago.
