Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) is set to exit the NBC soap, so let’s talk about what’s leading up to his final airdate on September 23. During the week of September 14-18, Eric will get a surprise visit from someone he knew back in the Congo.
Angie (Nzinga Blake) will arrive in Salem, so Eric will be both thrilled and curious. He’ll undoubtedly wonder what Angie’s up to – and she’ll indeed be on a mission.
Angie will recruit Eric for a project that she thinks he’d be the perfect fit for. However, Angie should also acknowledge that Eric got married over the summer and is a stepdad to Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander). Eric’s a family man and values the people he loves above all else, so he can’t rush into any big decisions.
Angie will give a pitch about this amazing offer she has in mind and hope Eric accepts, but it’ll soon be out of her hands. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Eric will have to make that same pitch to Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) and get her input.
DOOL fans can expect Nicole to get behind Eric on following this new dream. Since Angie’s offer will be something that’ll change Eric’s life for the better, Nicole will give him the nudge he needs. This sounds like a job in the Congo, so it’s a challenge Eric will have to tackle alone.
Nicole and Eric will likely agree it’s best not to take Holly away from her family, friends and school in Salem. Nicole will want to stick around for her own job as well as Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), who’ll be back in Salem starting next week.
Once Eric and Nicole work out the details, it’ll be time for Eric to pack up his things and head out. Eric may get some quick parting moments with family members, but it’s Eric’s farewell to Nicole that’ll be most important. Days spoilers say Eric will get choked up as he leaves his wife behind, but Nicole will know this is something Eric truly wants.
That brings us to Greg Vaughan’s final airdate on September 23, which will feature an emotional “Ericole” goodbye. Naturally, this exit leaves the door open for Vaughan to reprise the role of Eric, so let’s hope he’ll make a comeback at some point. Vaughan certainly isn’t ruling out a return, so we’d say this is just a goodbye for now.
