Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) could soon be put in a precarious situation. As DOOL viewers know, Kayla and Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) recently got engaged after Justin made a bold and pretty impulsive proposal at the hospital. Kayla was understandably stunned, and she hesitated at first, but after taking Justin back to her office, Kayla eventually accepted the proposal.
Of course, this was after Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) had left Kayla a note in her office essentially telling her goodbye and that he hoped that Kayla and Justin would be happy together. Kayla happened to read the note right before she decided to accept Justin’s proposal, apparently taking the note as a sign that Steve had moved on and no longer wanted her.
Well, DOOL viewers know that Steve really does want Kayla back, but he’s being stubborn and “giving” Kayla the happiness he thinks that she deserves with Justin.
And the frustrating thing is that Steve is doing this even after being warned by multiple people, including John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) that he should tell Kayla how he feels and let Kayla decide, rather than making the decision for her.
As it turns out, it looks like Steve isn’t going to have a lot of time to rethink his decision to let Kayla go and marry Justin. It seems that Justin and Kayla will be getting married soon – there are a going to be a lot of weddings in Salem this summer, and as shown in one of the most recent DOOL summer previews, Kayla and Justin’s wedding will be one of them.
But is Steve really going to let this wedding go off without stepping in and doing something dramatic? It would be a very soapy outcome for Steve to come to his senses at the last minute and realize that he can’t possibly let Kayla marry someone else.
What if Steve decides to interrupt the nuptials and make a last-ditch effort to get his Sweetness back?
There are plenty of “Stayla” fans who would love to see Steve go fight for his love, but even if he did, would Kayla just go running back to Steve? She might get furious with Steve for waiting until the last minute – when it could be too late – to say something about her marriage to Justin. Maybe Kayla wouldn’t take Steve back even if he were to rush in and object to the union.
We’ll see what happens here, but the DOOL promo was clear that Kayla would be at least dressed and ready for her wedding, and seemingly walking in the room for some Kiriakis mansion nuptials.
