Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 3, reveal that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan), and Ciara Weston (Victoria Konefal) had breakfast at the .com café in New York City. Ciara was on edge and not hungry, and Shawn and Hope soon headed to Eve Donovan’s (Kassie DePaiva) apartment, leaving Ciara and Claire behind.
Claire wanted to follow Shawn and Hope, but Ciara felt too emotional to go. Ciara said that she had a horrible feeling in her gut that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) was running out of time.
Meanwhile, Hope and Shawn arrived at Eve’s apartment, but viewers didn’t see what transpired there. Instead, Hope and Shawn were next shown back at the café with Claire and Ciara, and they relayed that Eve’s apartment had been a mess, like no one had been there in weeks.
Shawn said that he knew someone who might be able to help, and suddenly Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) walked in and greeted everyone, then asked how she could help.
Chloe quickly learned that the group needed to find Eve, and that it was a matter of life and death. Meanwhile, at some warehouse, Ben woke up from a dream about Ciara to water being thrown on him. It was Vincent (Michael Teh), Eve’s helper, who had Ben restrained and hooked up via electrodes to a computer.
Soon, Eve materialized and started taunting Ben, telling him that the nightmare was just beginning. Ben realized that he was hooked up to an IV that was delivering a mind-altering drug to him and that would make him vulnerable to suggestion.
Eve played with a necktie, saying she was going to turn Ben back into the necktie killer, and that he was going to kill Ciara.
Eve kept taunting Ben, going on about how the reason that Ben was allowed to live after killing Paige Larson (True O’Brien) was so that he could fall in love with Ciara and know what it meant to lose a great love.
“God gave you Ciara so I could make you kill her,” Eve said ominously. Ben was horrified, and Eve went on to explain that Vincent was a protégé of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) and was a master of mind control.
Vincent put some contraption on Ben’s head, then proceeded to try to classically condition Ben by shocking him when he saw pictures/video of Ciara and giving him a pleasurable sensation when he saw pictures of his victims from his necktie killer days.
This went on for a great while, then Eve dragged out a mannequin wearing Ciara’s wedding gown and a tablet running a video of Ciara’s face tied to the head of the mannequin.
Vincent administered pain when Ben saw video of a happy Ciara on the tablet, and he administered a pleasurable sensation when Ben saw video of Ciara being choked with a red necktie. Ben looked pretty broken, and Eve creepily instructed him to “kill Ciara and end your pain.”
Back in Salem, Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) was reviewing adoption forms in the Kiriakis living room when Will Horton (Chandler Massey) walked in. Turned out, the adoption forms were for adopting a puppy, and Sonny and Will shared a laugh over it.
Soon, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) called to say that Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) had her baby. Will and Sonny rushed off.
At Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) apartment, Nicole sat looking over the adoption papers for Allie’s baby.
Turns out, Allie hadn’t signed the papers before she went into labor, and Eric and Nicole rehashed how Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had interfered with Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) decision-making about the adoption.
At Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) penthouse, Belle Black (Martha Madison) talked with Sami. Together, Sami and Belle rehashed the church bombing and Eve being a suspect.
Sami actually sympathized with Eve, much to Belle’s chagrin. Sami then told Belle the whole story about how Allie rejected her for coercing Rafe not to adopt the baby.
Of course, Sami blamed everything on Nicole, but Belle pointed out to Sami that it wasn’t Nicole’s fault…it was all Sami’s fault. Belle wondered if Allie knew that Lucas and Will covered for Sami, but Sami said not yet.
Belle said that Allie was going to be royally peeved, and after Belle and Sami argued about this for a while, Sami took off to go talk to Allie.
At the hospital, Will and Sonny arrived on the Labor & Delivery unit and looked lovingly at Allie’s little boy in the nursery. Eric and Nicole came along, and Will and Sonny soon learned that Nicole was Allie’s birthing coach.
Will and Sonny wondered why nobody called them when the baby was born, and Nicole said that Sami asked her not to. Then, Nicole and Eric told “WilSon” that Allie hadn’t signed the adoption papers and that Allie found out that Sami convinced Rafe not to adopt the baby.
Sonny was immediately angry, and Will looked horrified and scared. Nicole and Eric took off to go see Allie, and Sonny cursed Sami. “Thank God you are nothing like her,” Sonny told a guilty looking Will.
Sonny said he was going to confront Sami about this. “I’m a Kiriakis, and she’s going to pay for what she did!” Sonny proclaimed. Suddenly Sami appeared.
