Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, July 13, reveal that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) took a call from Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) as she was getting ready for the wedding at their apartment. Eric was in a bedroom at the Brady Pub getting dressed as they talked and gushed over the fact that the next time they see each other, it will be at their wedding. Someone knocked on the door, and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) barged in looking for Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). Nicole explained that Allie was out running errands.
Lucas needled Nicole about having been married so many times, and he said he was just going to sit and wait for Allie to get back. After some back-and-forth about what Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) is going to think about Allie’s pregnancy when she finds out, Lucas left.
Back with Eric, he talked with Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) in his room at the Pub. Roman and Eric discussed how Sami wasn’t going to be at the wedding, which Roman thought was a mistake.
Roman then gave Eric a letter from his grandma Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay), saying that she wanted Eric to open the letter when he was alone. Roman and Eric exchanged some nice words and embraced.
Roman left and Eric opened the letter from his grandma and read it aloud. Caroline said that she knew there was something special about Eric from birth, and that once he left the priesthood, she prayed that he’d find a deep love.
Caroline said that she hoped that the woman lucky enough to be his wife made him happy beyond his wildest dreams, and that the woman “sure as hell better be.” Eric laughed and continued reading, as Caroline said that she loved him and that she was always with him.
At the park, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) fumed because the engagement ring he purchased for Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) was missing from its box. Ben insisted that Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) must have taken it, but Ciara said there was no proof and she didn’t believe it. Ben said that Claire had opportunity and motive.
Outside the Brady Pub, Claire sat on a bench and fiddled with her purse. Allie came along and she and Claire hugged and discussed Allie’s pregnancy and Ciara’s wedding briefly.
Allie took off, and Ciara and Ben walked up very seriously, saying that the ring wasn’t in the box. “What happened?” Claire said. “You tell us,” Ben insisted. Ciara said that it was a funny coincidence that there were issues with both her dress and her ring. Claire got upset, insisting she didn’t do it, and she left in a huff.
Ben and Ciara talked, and Ciara said that she felt terribly that Claire thought she was accusing her of taking the ring. Ben said, “Obviously she took the ring and she’s playing you.” Ciara refused to believe it and said that they needed to go retrace Ben’s steps and look for the ring one more time. Ben and Ciara took off.
In town square, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) spoke with Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) on the phone, then he saw Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) and thought she was Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans).
Jack rushed over to Bonnie and called her Adrienne, then hugged her. Bonnie capitalized on the moment and moved her hand down toward Jack’s rear, and Jack was appalled. Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) then came along and told Jack that this was Bonnie, not Adrienne.
Jack started yelling at Bonnie for being back in Salem, and Bonnie tried to explain that she was here for a book signing in town square. Justin asked Jack for a ride home, and they left together.
Bonnie started her book signing, talking to a fan about how hot things had been with Lucas. Lucas came along and Bonnie fantasized about Lucas ripping open his shirt so she could sign his chest.
When Bonnie snapped back to reality, Lucas blasted her saying that she has a lot of nerve showing her face in Salem after everything she did. During his rant, Lucas mentioned that his daughter was giving up her baby, and Bonnie wondered what that was all about.
Lucas didn’t want to discuss it, and Bonnie offered to buy him a beer to discuss it. Lucas was appalled, since he doesn’t drink. Lucas stormed off, and Bonnie said to herself that she wasn’t giving up on Lucas.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Justin and Jack shared a drink and discussed how they both hated having Bonnie back in town. Both men hoped that Bonnie wouldn’t stay long, and Jack openly wondered what reason she’d have to stay in Salem.
Back at Nicole and Eric’s apartment, Allie showed up and helped Nicole get ready for her wedding. Allie thanked Nicole for all her support, and Nicole offered words of encouragement about Allie’s decision to give her baby up for adoption.
Allie acknowledged that someday Sami would find out about the baby, and Nicole promised to be there for her when that happened.
Suddenly, Claire dropped by to tell Nicole that she wouldn’t be able to make it to her wedding, claiming to not be feeling well. Nicole said it was ok, and that she just wanted Claire to feel better. Claire acted very odd during the exchange and noticed Nicole’s engagement ring, telling her that it was a beautiful ring. Claire left hurriedly and Allie and Nicole looked at each other quizzically.
Back in the park, Ciara and Ben looked for the ring but couldn’t find it. Ciara wondered how a ring could just vanish, and Ben told Ciara to just accept the fact that Claire took it. Ben lamented that they needed to get ready for Nicole and Eric’s wedding, but Ciara said she couldn’t think about anything until they found the ring. Ben said that it was time for Ciara to find another maid of honor. Across the way, Claire lurked and heard this comment.
At some dive hotel, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) arrived at their room. Turns out, they were on their way to Lake Louise when their plane had some mechanical problems, so they were stuck in a crappy hotel with twin beds.
Steve promised that they’d be lakeside by tomorrow enjoying the sights, and he pulled out some mini liquor bottles, pretzels, and peanuts from his suitcase. Steve and Kayla toasted and drank their drinks.
Kayla changed from her wedding dress into some of Steve’s clothes, and together they rehashed everything that had happened with Justin and the wedding. Steve offered to take things slowly, given what had happened.
Soon, it was time to get some sleep, and Steve and Kayla each settled into their own twin bed. Kayla said that it reminded her of their time in Stockholm together, and they reminisced about that for a while.
Kayla chastised Steve a bit for his habit of making decisions for her, and he promised not to do that going forward. Steve rolled over in his bed to sleep, and soon Kayla joined him in his bed.
Steve and Kayla declared their love for each other, and Steve said that he would never let Kayla go again. “You’d better not,” Kayla said. “I love you sweetness, now and forever,” Steve said as he held Kayla.
