Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) will face a terrible blow during the week of June 8-12. There’s no confirmation on what that blow is, but we can think of one that’d be Rafe’s worst nightmare. Will Zoey Burge (Alyshia Ochse) score custody of David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends)?
Rafe considers David his son and has been raising him since he was just a baby. However, Zoey is a blood relative and that matters in court. Although Zoey has a family full of criminals, so does Rafe. They’ve both got siblings and fathers behind bars or facing legal drama, so it’s a pretty level playing field here.
Although Zoey pulled a gun on Rafe and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) at Orpheus’ (George DelHoyo) hideout, DOOL fans know her goal was simply protecting her son. Zoey worried she’d never see her little boy again if she didn’t follow Orpheus’ orders.
It’s not like Rafe’s record is squeaky clean since he’s covered up crimes before – like when Hope thought she’d murdered Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo). No one is perfect in this scenario, but Zoey and Rafe both love David.
At least there’s no need to worry about whether David will be taken care of properly – not as long as Orpheus is locked up.
In the end, the judge may decide David should be with his aunt. Will Rafe get the news that he’ll have to give up David? If so, Rafe’s going to be devastated.
That’d mean telling David goodbye, which could be especially hard since David doesn’t understand any of this. David knows Rafe as his dad, so this whole ordeal with Orpheus has undoubtedly been confusing to the kid.
Rafe may worry about how David will handle dealing with more changes. David could be uprooted from his life in Salem and moved to another city with Zoey soon. Fortunately, Days fans can see that David’s a pretty easy-going child. He doesn’t seem too fazed by all the chaos that’s been happening around him.
Rafe can perhaps take comfort in knowing David’s young enough to adapt quickly. At the same time, it may break Rafe’s heart to think David probably won’t have very many memories of him. It’ll be hard to watch Rafe and David’s farewell if that’s where this Days of Our Lives storyline’s headed.
