Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, August 18 Recap - Xander's Short-Lived Success - Baby War Casualties - Philip Intrudes

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 18, reveal that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) reminisced about her evening of passion with Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) while lingering near the nurses’ station at the hospital.

Soon, Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) rushed in, saying that she was worried that there was something wrong with the babies. Lani explained that she was feeling contractions, and she and Sarah went off to an examination room.

After the exam, Sarah explained that Lani was having Braxton Hicks contractions, and that she and the babies were in good shape. Lani confessed that she hadn’t told Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) about the contractions or her concern.

Lani thought that maybe Eli would think that she was overreacting. Sarah reassured Lani that she was acting like a good mom.

Soon, Sarah’s phone dinged, and Sarah looked disappointed as she checked who it was. Lani asked if Sarah was hoping it was Xander, and Sarah admitted that she and Xander were officially back together.

Sarah gushed about her relationship with Xander and about how he was on the verge of getting the CEO position back at Titan Industries.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) explained that he couldn’t offer Xander the CEO position because Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) hadn’t officially stepped down yet.

Xander thought that Victor should call Brady, and Victor said that Brady hadn’t returned his calls. Xander swiped Victor’s phone and got hold of Brady, then gave Victor the phone.

After a conversation with Brady, Victor hung up and said that Brady agreed to step down. “Congratulations, the job is yours,” Victor said, making Xander happy.

Xander grumped a little about being second choice, but Victor said that this was a family business, and as Victor and Xander talked, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) walked in, smiling. “Philip!” Xander exclaimed.

In Salem Park, Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) looked for evidence in the place where Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) had talked with Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) earlier.

Hope and Shawn talked a bit about Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), and Hope explained about how she and Rafe shared a “moment” back at the police station. Shawn urged Hope to talk to Rafe about how she really felt.

At the Salem PD, Rafe and Eli talked in the squad room, and Rafe shared that Hope was back on the force. Rafe seemed hesitant about the whole thing, so Eli inquired about what was wrong, and Rafe shared that he and Hope had a “moment” earlier.

Eli thought that Rafe and Hope getting back together sounded like a good thing, and he urged Rafe to talk with Hope about his real feelings. Rafe agreed that he should.

Later, Eli sat alone in the squad room when Lani came in and admitted that she didn’t go to the park earlier, but that she was at the hospital. Eli and Lani went into the interrogation room and Lani explained about the Braxton Hicks contractions and going to see Sarah.

Eli was relieved that nothing was wrong, and he understood why Lani overreacted a little.

Back in the squad room, Hope arrived saying that she needed to talk with Rafe. Rafe was glad, because he needed to talk with her, too. Hope hesitated, then said that she just wanted to talk with Rafe about her search of the park. Rafe seemed deflated, and he and Hope took off for Rafe’s office to discuss.

At Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) penthouse, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Brady (Arianne Zucker) started arguing with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) at the door, and Sami promptly slammed the door in their faces.

Eric insisted that Sami open the door, so she did, and he and Nicole quickly learned that Sami had Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby in her possession.

Nicole and Eric walked in the penthouse and a major argument ensued, with Nicole and Sami going at each other over all the same old issues and Eric trying to break them up repeatedly.

Sami said that Nicole manipulated Allie into writing her note and that Nicole wants the baby to hold onto Eric. Nicole thought that was insane, and she insisted that Eric tell Sami what Allie’s letter said.

Eric recounted what he could of the letter, but he had to admit that the actual letter was with Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth). Sami fumed that Nicole and Eric hired an attorney.

Sami put the baby in the next room, and the arguing continued, with Nicole blasting Sami for pressuring Allie and Rafe, and for manipulating Will Horton (Chandler Massey).

Sami and Nicole were nearly brawling when John came in and broke things up. John quickly got up to speed on what was going on, and he instructed Eric and Nicole to go, and to respect the restraining order right now.

Eric said that John was right, and he and Nicole left. Sami thanked John for taking her side, but John quickly pointed out that he was on Nicole and Eric’s side.

Sami started yelling at John, and he yelled back about how Sami had ignored her own daughter. Sami raged, and John raged right back, griping at Sami about getting Belle Black (Martha Madison) involved in this whole thing.

Suddenly, John clutched the back of his head, while Sami kept raging. John then stumbled and fell to the floor while Sami cried out for him.

Nicole and Eric wound up back at their apartment, where Nicole apologized to Eric for putting him in the middle of all this. Eric said that Sami had gone too far this time, and that she needed to be stopped before she destroys any more lives.
