Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 18, reveal that Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) and Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) argued in park. Jennifer demanded an explanation from Kate, who said that she and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) had a friendship, and that one night it went too far.
Jennifer asked why Kate and Jack had been talking just moments before, and Kate said that she was telling Jack how sorry she was that Jennifer got hurt.
Jennifer ranted at Kate, bringing up her father’s affair with Kate back in the day. Kate said that when she was with Jennifer’s father, his marriage was already over.
Jennifer fumed that her marriage wasn’t over when Kate preyed on Jack. Kate fired back that Jack’s heart was in what they were doing…along with the rest of his body!
That prompted Jennifer to slap Kate, and Kate hauled off and slapped Jennifer right back. The bickering continued, with Kate insisting that Jennifer never really forgave her for the past and calling both Jennifer’s father and Jack good men.
Kate said that Jack temporarily gave up hope on Jennifer after waiting on her for over a year, and that his actions were the result of despair.
Finally, Kate told Jennifer to get over herself, and that she could lose Jack forever if she didn’t forgive him and allow him to forgive himself. Meanwhile, over at Statesville, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) arrived to visit with Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay).
Rolf and Gwen talked briefly about the “little favor” that Gwen did for him, which is still a secret to viewers, and then Gwen recapped everything that happened at the anniversary party.
Gwen told Rolf that she was now onto phase two with Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), which involved getting Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) to believe that Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) and Abigail are having an affair.
Gwen said that she could use the fact that Jake and Kate are carrying out a secret affair to her advantage in her plan.
Rolf asked why Gwen hated Abigail so much, and Rolf said that Gwen clearly wasn’t a long-lost DiMera relative. Gwen said that she’d tell Rolf the whole story, which she did off-screen and outside of viewers’ awareness.
“Now do you understand why I hate her?” Gwen asked. “I’m beginning to get the picture,” Rolf said.
In Jake’s workshop, Chad pressed Jake, saying that he called Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) assistant and that Jake hadn’t left Li a message. Just then, Li burst in, saying that he wanted to see Jake and answer his message in person.
Turns out, Jake had left Li a message on his personal cell phone about taking a larger role in DiMera Enterprises.
Li said that Chad would remain as CEO, and that Jake could take a VP position if that was acceptable. Jake happily accepted, and Chad seemed disgruntled. After Li left, Chad found Abigail’s scarf on the floor.
Jake said that Abigail had come there earlier to apologize for last night. “I comfort my wife – not you,” Chad said, getting in Jake’s face.
After Chad left, Kate burst into Jake’s workshop, upset over her run-in with Jennifer earlier. “I need to blow off some steam,” Kate said, making Jake happy in the process. Over at the Salem Inn, Abigail talked with JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) and rehashed what happened at the anniversary party in detail.
JJ comforted Abigail, saying that while she might have handled the situation differently, the affair was wholly on Jack and Kate.
At the Brady Pub, Jack walked in and ordered a drink from Roman Brady (Josh Taylor). Jack rehashed what happened at the anniversary party, and as it turns out, Roman knew about the affair with Kate from having watched events unfold in the bar last year.
Jack lamented that Jennifer never would have found out if not for Abigail, and Roman pointed out that Abigail really wasn’t to blame. Jack realized that Roman was right and left.
At the DiMera mansion, Abigail and Chad met up in the living room. Abigail noticed that Chad was carrying her scarf, and Chad lied and said that he found it outside.
Abigail shared that she talked with JJ, and Chad thought that Jack and Jennifer loved each other and could overcome anything.
Finally, outside the Salem Inn, Jack ran into Jennifer. “Jennifer?” Jack called out. Jennifer looked at Jack, then gazed at her wedding ring and walked into the building. Jack looked dejected.
