General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) has just made a startling discovery. As GH viewers know, Carly was with Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and happened to notice the half-heart pendant that Avery had around her neck.
Avery had found the pendant outside the Corinthos cabin in the woods, shortly after Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) lost it during her struggle in the clearing with Carly.
Well, now Carly is going to have a choice to make, and General Hospital spoilers say she’ll run right to Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) with her discovery. Carly is going to reel as she absorbs the fact that Nelle was Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter, and she’s not going to know what to do.
Carly will surely feel some major guilt over how Nelle died, and how she robbed Nina of ever knowing her daughter.
But we suspect that Carly will quickly start realizing that Nina could make a lot of trouble where Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) is concerned if she were to ever find out the truth that Nelle was her daughter.
After all, if Nelle was Nina’s daughter, then it means that Wiley is Nina’s grandson, and Nina could want some sort of claim to Wiley.
In fact, given how custody battles tend to play out on soaps, we wouldn’t put it past Nina to fight for full custody of Wiley on the grounds that he’s in danger in Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) care, especially if she were to find out what really happened when Nelle fell over the cliff out in the woods.
Carly is probably going to be a bundle of nerves wondering if Nina could fight for full or partial custody of Wiley.
And that could lead Carly to work on Jax to keep the truth about Nelle from Nina altogether. Jax probably won’t want to see Nina get hurt and realize that her daughter is dead, and he surely won’t want Nina to ever find out that Carly tried and failed to save Nelle on that cliff.
Jax knows that Nina would probably lead the charge to have Carly prosecuted for pushing Nelle, despite what really happened.
In fact, Carly might want to at least persuade Jax to hold off in telling Nina about Nelle being her daughter until after Wiley’s adoption to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) goes through.
That would put Wiley in a secure home with two full-custody parents and perhaps make it harder for Nina to stake a claim on Wiley.
We’ll see what happens here, but something tells us that Carly’s going to be thinking all of this through, and she’d probably prefer that Nina never knows the truth.
However, Carly also will likely realize that Nina won’t stop until she finds her daughter, and so Carly may wholly focus on protecting Wiley.
