General Hospital Spoilers: Chase Not a Hero, Deserves His Pain – Fake Cheater Too Cruel To Willow After Shiloh Suffering

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that a recent plot twist still has plenty of fans buzzing. GH fans watched as Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) put their drastic plan into action. They made sure Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) would walk in on them “cheating,” which Chase backed up in a very hurtful conversation with Willow afterward.

It seems like General Hospital wants us to believe Chase is some noble hero. This story is about Chase sacrificing the woman he loves so she can have true happiness. The only way Chase thinks that’s possible is if Willow marries Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and locks in a bright future for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson).

However, there are a ton of problems with this storyline – and none of them make Chase look like the good guy. For starters, why does Chase get to decide this for Willow?

Willow’s a grown woman who’s more than capable of making her own choices. Instead, Chase is making one for her through this “betrayal,” which will obviously push Willow into a marriage with Michael.

Of course, the biggest problem is the scheme in general. When it comes down to it, Chase is manipulating Willow. Chase’s heart may be in the right place, but this is just too cruel considering Willow’s background.

Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) was a master manipulator who tried to control Willow and dictate her decisions. Chase is doing the same thing, albeit in a less extreme way. If Chase claims to love Willow as much as he does, how could he hurt her like this?

Willow had a lot of trust issues going into this relationship due to Shiloh. Chase helped Willow heal, so why is he willing to destroy all that – Wiley or no Wiley? There had to be an alternative. If nothing else, Chase could’ve just dumped Willow.

Since Chase is letting Willow believe the Wiley issue drove him to cheat, why not just use that as the reason for the breakup? There was no need to have Willow come home and experience the heartbreak of seeing Chase in Sasha’s arms.

Now don’t get us wrong. We get that soaps have to have drama, which means including plot points and stretching logic at times. In this case though, the story just doesn’t work. Chase isn’t a hero because he hurt Willow enough to make her do what HE thinks is best. The fake affair scheme was heartless and totally uncalled for.

Honestly, if Chase doesn’t have any more sense than this, he deserves the pain of watching Willow move on with Michael! As other GH news becomes available, we’ll give you updates. General Hospital spoilers say Michael and Willow’s wedding plans will move forward, so stay tuned. Be sure to pop back in CDL often for hot General Hospital spoilers, updates and news.
