General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) will realize his celebration may have been a bit premature. Cyrus feels confident that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is now out of the way, which leaves Cyrus with a clear path to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). However, Jason survived his motorcycle crash and could continue to prove he’s a fighter.
Although Jason will likely be comatose for a while, the fact that he’s alive at all may not go over well with Cyrus. Since Cyrus is ruthless, he may take steps to make sure Jason’s gone for good. Could Cyrus send a hit man to finish Jason off? Since Jason will be vulnerable in his hospital room, that certainly seems like a risk here.
Meanwhile, we’ve got Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), who’ll face suspicions about the work he did on Jason’s bike. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will confront Brando in hopes of getting the real story.
Sam McCall (temporarily played by Lindsay Hartley) will also want to figure out if Brando might have an agenda.
To be fair, Brando is indeed keeping a few things to himself – like the fact that Cyrus spoke with him privately about something. However, that something may not have been an order to sabotage Jason’s motorcycle.
That’s what General Hospital’s leading viewers to believe, but it’d be simple to pivot and reveal that Brando’s innocent.
Brando told Sonny a touching story about going to the track with Mike Corbin (Max Gail) as a kid and how much he loved the horses. Mike taught Brando a valuable lesson about loving something all the way to the end, so Brando stayed by injured Smokey’s side before he was put down.
After hearing Brando share that story and seeing Sonny get all choked up, it’s just tough to buy Brando as some coldhearted murderer. It’d be interesting if Brando was that complex, but he’s probably just a good guy with a secret or two.
Regardless, how can Sonny be sure? Brando may be completely innocent here, but he needs a chance to prove himself to Sonny. Perhaps Brando could get that chance if Cyrus sends someone to murder Jason at GH.
Brando could easily intervene and fight the hit man off. Maybe Brando will save Jason’s life and convince Sonny they’re on the same side!
