General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu Spencer) recently spoke out about her coma exit and how tough it was to play. Some viewers might think pretending to be comatose is easy since there are no lines to memorize, but Rylan insisted that was far from the case!
Let’s look at what Rylan had to say about the tough task that tied in with her GH departure.
“Laying there emotionless while my amazing costars cried over my comatose body was one of the hardest acting challenges EVER!” Rylan said on Twitter. “They don’t exactly have you practice that in acting school…” Rylan included some crying with laughter emojis and thanked everyone who noticed how difficult that must’ve been.
Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan West) could relate due to his similar experience on the show. General Hospital fans will recall that Paevey even had to play it a step further since he was in Nathan’s casket at the funeral. “I 100% agree and understand, haha,” Paevey told Rylan.
In another tweet, Rylan admitted the scene where Laura Collins (Genie Francis) said goodbye for now to Lulu was done in one take. Since Francis pulled off some impressive, emotional work, many viewers wondered how Rylan was able to keep from crying herself.
Rylan indeed did an excellent job of playing comatose Lulu while such profound performances were going on around her.
“Omg Genie crying over you must have been so hard,” one fan tweeted. “Such great work from all. I’m really sad to see you go, hopefully it’s not for too long.” “You rocked it!! I would have been bawling like a baby,” another GH viewer said.
“You have always been amazing!” one more fan insisted. “I don’t know how you were able to keep still for such a long time. You were very convincing. I cried the whole time it looked so real! Hope to see you soon on another show or on GH. Maybe they will have you wake up in time!”
Rylan has been liking tweets from fans who are rooting for her to eventually make a comeback as Lulu, so she’s obviously quite interested in returning. Let’s hope General Hospital makes it happen down the road! We’ll provide updates as other GH news rolls in.
