General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, August 21, reveal that Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) kept the Nurses’ Ball Telethon going by introducing Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy), who said some inspiring words about the wonderful things that frontline workers do.
While this was going on, in the ladies’ room, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) continued to listen as Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) said that if Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) woos Elizabeth into bed, then Ava gets the big payoff she deserves.
In the booth area, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) told Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Radmacher) that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) wanted to talk with him about possibly getting a car.
Jax soon turned to Nikolas and said that perhaps Nikolas should have thought a little more about his scholarship before announcing it. Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) followed up by telling Nikolas to show some of his great generosity to his wife.
At their booth, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) told Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) about Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) fraudulent marriage, and Willow mused that unconventional marriages must be a thing with the Quartermaines.
Over in the backstage dressing area, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) clutched her throat as Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) slashed her with the fabric shears.
Meanwhile, Michael noticed a missed call from Brook Lynn. Michael noted that he didn’t blame Brook Lynn for selling her ELQ shares – after all, she didn’t know that she was selling them to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Michael tried to call Brook Lynn, and her phone went ringing next to Brook Lynn’s lifeless body. Nelle wiped off the shears and placed the shears near Brook Lynn’s hand.
And over at the Quartermaine mansion, Julian Jerome (William deVry) headed up toward Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos’ (Theo and Erik Olson) room after chloroforming Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) in the living room.
Back at the Metro Court, Lucy was flustered over Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) disappearing act, so she instructed Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) to round up Epiphany and the other nurses for a number.
In the foyer, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) told Valentin that his number was wonderful, and Valentin congratulated Anna on Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) good news.
Meanwhile, in the ladies’ room, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) told Ava that Franco was her friend, and that she hoped Ava wasn’t playing with his marriage to Elizabeth.
As Elizabeth listened from a stall, Ava said that Elizabeth is a chronic cheater, and that If she chooses to cheat on Franco, then he should know. Ava and Nina left, and Elizabeth emerged from the stall.
Nelle bolted out the front door of the Metro Court, getting a text from Julian as she did saying “It’s done.” At the same time, Julian walked out of the Q mansion with Wiley.
Later, Michael and Willow returned to the mansion, where they proceeded to talk in the foyer, sitting on the staircase while Monica was unconscious in the next room.
Back at the Metro Court, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly talked about how Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) had pretended to have an affair. Sonny was glad that the whole scheme wasn’t Carly’s idea, and he urged Carly to stay out of it.
Talk turned to Mike Corbin (Max Gail), and Sonny decided to stay at the telethon and keep supporting all the frontline workers who cared for his dad at Turning Woods.
In the foyer, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) told Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) that Brook Lynn wasn’t returning his calls. Olivia started in on Ned, and he asked her to just save the lecture for tonight.
Olivia got peeved that her opinion was now considered a lecture, and Olivia blasted Ned for his attitude toward Brook Lynn, telling him that he was turning into Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle).
Ned went to the booths and asked if anyone had seen Brook Lynn, which no one had. Brook Lynn remained on the floor in the backstage dressing area, and in response to Ned’s inquiry, Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) decided to go check on Brook Lynn.
Dustin and Lulu took off, headed for the dressing area.
In the lobby, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) found Olivia and said that he had a connection at the bureau who can get Olivia in for a visit with Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna).
Olivia was thrilled, and Robert said that no civilians were allowed, so he’d have to go with her. They decided to leave tomorrow, and Olivia impulsively hugged Robert, which Ned saw from a distance.
At the Q mansion, Willow and Michael continued talking on the staircase, and finally, Michael walked in and found Monica presumably asleep, but he couldn’t wake her up.
And at the pier, Julian arrived, leaving Wiley in the car. Julian flashed back to a conversation with Ava asking him why he hadn’t killed Nelle yet, and he got an idea.
Back at the Metro Court, Dustin and Lulu found Brook Lynn on the floor near the shears. Dustin checked for a pulse, while Lulu went for help. While this was going on, Lucy introduced Anna to the cameras, and Anna said a few nice words about how she’s the mother of an HIV survivor.
Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) was watching from the wings, but he suddenly got a text and rushed off.
In the foyer, Franco and Elizabeth met up, and Elizabeth shared that Ava is the real problem here. Elizabeth said that Ava was using them, but Franco said that Nikolas was the one playing them. Elizabeth looked skeptical.
In the lobby, Ned continued to watch Olivia and Robert until Robert left. Ned rushed up and blasted Olivia for turning to Robert, and Olivia explained that she was going to get a visit with Dante, but that Ned couldn’t go. Suddenly, Lulu ran up and told Ned and Olivia that Brook Lynn had been attacked.
At the Q mansion, Monica finally woke up, but she was fuzzy and a little incoherent. Willow rushed to check the nursery, then returned saying that Wiley wasn’t in his room.
At the pier, Nelle arrived and wondered where Wiley was. Julian said that Wiley was in the car, and he looked at Nelle menacingly. “Nelle, you’re not going anywhere,” Julian said. “You pushed me too far, and now I’m pushing back.” And with that, Julian whipped out a gun and held an astonished Nelle at gunpoint.
At the Metro Court, Lucy introduced the final number, which was Epiphany, Amy, and other nurses singing a number. While this was going on, Brook Lynn was hauled away by paramedics on a stretcher with Finn tending to her.
Mac Scorpio (John J. York) questioned Lulu and Dustin, but they hadn’t noticed anything unusual. Ned told Brook Lynn to hang in there, and he and Olivia rushed off with Brook Lynn and the paramedics.
