General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, July 31 – Final Encore Before New GH Episodes Start – Nelle Good Mom Act – Sam Attacks Julian

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, July 31, tease that the show will revisit some significant drama. We’ve arrived at the final encore – the last episode aired before GH was forced to halt production. General Hospital’s gearing up for a new episode on Monday, August 3, so Friday’s episode will serve as a good reminder before the big day.

At Crimson, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) seeks updates from Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who’s still uncertain about whether to testify on Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) behalf.

Nina feels like no one else is going to support Nelle. She thinks Nelle’s lonely and may have no motive to change for the better if she loses the custody battle.

Jax reminds Nina that Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) is at the center of that battle. Nina would blame herself if she helped Nelle and it turned out to be the wrong call.

Wiley would suffer, so Jax forces Nina to think about how she’d feel. After Nina’s phone chimes, she acknowledges that it’s now or never when it comes to testifying.

Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) catches up with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) at the Metro Court and shares his belief that Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) may still be alive. Although Robert assumes Laura thinks he’s crazy, she denies it.

How can Laura talk Robert out of digging when Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) is alive and well?

Robert’s looking for a more recent phone number for Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), so Laura suggests talking to Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot).

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) catches Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) on the phone with someone who can see her soul. Brook Lynn misunderstands and blasts Olivia for cheating on Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth).

Olivia clarifies that she’s been on the phone with a psychic. She gets weepy over not having any other way to get answers about Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and his recovery.

Brook Lynn’s sorry, and Ned hates that Olivia’s in so much pain. However, Ned’s also worried that psychics will just try to take advantage of Olivia.

Brook Lynn calls Linc Brown (Dan Buran) after finding out someone seems to be staging a hostile takeover at ELQ. Once Brook Lynn’s gone, Robert arrives and inquires about getting Luke’s number from Tracy.

Ned leaves the room to call Tracy up, so Robert gets Olivia talking about what’s got her so upset. Olivia and Robert are comforting each other when Ned returns looking a bit perturbed.

As for Luke’s number, Ned was able to get it for Robert. Luke is currently waiting to hear from Robert. Meanwhile, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) gushes over Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) pics from the photoshoot. She suggests that whatever Sasha did to get her head back in the game worked out well.

Sasha remembers taking the drug vial she was offered, but she just tells Maxie that she knew the photoshoot was important and wanted to prove herself. Maxie gets lightheaded and nearly faints, so Peter takes her to the Metro Court restaurant for a breather and some food.

After Maxie picks around at her plate, Peter thinks maybe a doctor should check her out.

Maxie doesn’t think that’s necessary until she looks at the calendar on her phone. She blames her issues on stress, but the look on her face tells a different story! Maxie clearly suspects she’s pregnant, but she leaves Peter out of the loop and decides she’ll visit her doctor after all.

Back with Sasha, she has a nice chat with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). Valentin hopes Sasha’s doing all right now that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) are married.

Sasha wants to keep her professional and personal lives separate, but she genuinely appreciates Valentin’s concern.

Valentin gets what it’s like to do something that costs you someone you love. He knows Sasha’s still paying the price, but he feels like Deception will at least make her a wealthy woman.

Sasha thinks it’s too bad that money can’t buy happiness, which is something Valentin understands. Afterward, Sasha accepts another drug vial from Maxie’s production assistant in case she needs another pick-me-up.

In the courtroom, Nelle gives quite a performance on the stand. Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) gets Nelle talking about how she felt when she found out her son was alive. Nelle talks about how much she’s already missed and how she wants to give Wiley a family.

Julian Jerome (William deVry) gets praise as an excellent co-parent and someone Nelle loves with every fiber of her being. Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) points out that only seems to be the case as of this morning!

Next, there’s a change of plans as Julian takes the stand. Martin tries hard to sell him as a reformed citizen with great love for Wiley, but Diane makes sure his past transgressions haunt him.

Sam rushes out of the courtroom eventually and slaps Julian once he catches up with her. Thanks to this marriage move, Julian is dead to Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes). Sam has no use for him either and feels they’ll all be better off without him in their lives.

Once Brook Lynn meets with Linc, she demands the name of the person he sold her shares to. Linc is reluctant to divulge that info, but Valentin appears and smugly suggests he can take over now. Back in the courtroom, Nina shows up in time to take the stand. She swears to tell the truth as Nelle grins over what she believes is her secret weapon.
