General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has some difficult decisions and heartbreaking moments ahead. GH viewers know Sonny’s got a major war with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) going on. Sonny and Cyrus pretended to call a truce, but they’re both still plotting against each other.
Now that Cyrus believes he’s got Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) out of the way, he expects to take Sonny out with ease. Of course, Sonny’s a smart guy with years of experience in mob battles. Is Sonny really just going to leave himself vulnerable?
Sonny typically relies on Jason to help him out, but that won’t be possible while Jason’s hospitalized. Jason will likely be comatose for quite some time, so Sonny will have to figure something out.
Although Jason will wake up eventually, there may still be a lengthy recovery process. Sonny can’t just leave himself exposed to Cyrus’ threat while Jason’s out of commission.
With that in mind, Sonny will need a temporary replacement for Jason. Who will fill in for Jason while he’s in a coma? The easiest answer seems to be Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) – although he’d have to prove himself to Sonny first.
GH wants fans to believe Brando sabotaged Jason’s bike for Cyrus, but that’s probably not the case. Brando doesn’t seem like a true baddie. He’s clearly got a good heart based on that story about Smokey the horse and his time at the track with Mike Corbin (Max Gail).
Brando’s done time in prison, so he’s not keen on getting caught up in all this mob drama. However, that’s exactly why General Hospital should put Brando in the middle of the action!
Brando has proven that he can save the day – just like when he came to Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) rescue after Cyrus’ orchestrated attack.
There’s nothing better than the real thing – meaning Jason “Stone Cold” Morgan – but Brando would be the best replacement until Jason can get back up on his feet. Do you think Brando will regain Sonny’s trust? Will Brando help to protect Sonny and the rest of the family?
