General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was thrown a major curveball in the last new episode filmed before the shutdown. Maxie looked a bit panicked as it dawned on her that she may be pregnant. Confirmation on this bun in the oven is coming down the road, but Maxie’s already spinning out at the thought of adding another kid to the mix!
Maxie’s been caught up in her career and was planning on making that her focus for a while. A baby certainly derails that plan, but Maxie will have to get used to the idea. It’ll be a lot to process, but Maxie will need to settle down and find a way to tell Peter August (Wes Ramsey) eventually.
As for that pivotal moment of realization, how was Maxie feeling? What was running through her mind? Kirsten Storms addressed that in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest. Maxie definitely seemed rattled, which is what Storms described. The GH star insisted this is a very out-of-the-blue revelation for Maxie.
“She’s really caught off-guard,” Storms said. “She’s been so busy with Valentin and her job and all those things, she hadn’t even given a thought of having a baby with Peter.”
Maxie will certainly have to give it some thought now! She may come to realize that raising a kid with Peter may not be the worst thing in the world – at least from her currently oblivious perspective. However, Storms suggested that Maxie’s kind of shutting down right now and not even in a place of acceptance.
“When she realizes what’s going on, she just looks away, like, “I can’t even handle thinking this at the moment!” Storms said. Once General Hospital is back with new episodes, Maxie will have to follow through on seeing her doctor. A blood test should make all this real and force Maxie to consider her future.
