General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans are always clamoring for big returns, but there’s one that’d be especially nice to see. Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) is certainly missed in Port Charles, so many GH viewers are rooting for his comeback.
Even if Jackson isn’t willing to reprise the role, perhaps General Hospital could find a solid recast to take his place. There are surely plenty of handsome and talented actors out there who’d love the job! Regardless, there are some great reasons to bring Lucky back to PC – and here are three of them.
1) Lucky Spencer should be with his family
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) finally got Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) back from the “dead,” so it’s nice that she has another one of her children on canvas. Nik joined Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), who has a close bond with Laura. However, Laura would love to have Lucky around as well. He really needs to be with his mom and siblings back in Port Charles.
There’s also the matter of Aiden Webber (Jason David), who’s been growing up without his dad for the most part. Although Aiden enjoyed a trip to Ireland with Lucky for the holidays, that’s not the same as a full-time father. Aiden also has Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) as his stepdad, but he could still use Lucky in his life more often. It’s not a good look for Lucky to abandon his son like this.
2) Another love interest option
General Hospital could always use more love interest options, but sometimes it’s tough for fans to warm to a new character. Recasts can help with that problem. We at least know who the character is and there are some built-in relationships.
If Jackson won’t make a comeback, GH could do some chem testing and find someone who might work with several possibilities on canvas. Perhaps Franco could use some competition for Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst)! There’s also Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), who’ll undoubtedly find herself single after her romance with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) blows up. There’s be several leading ladies who could work with Lucky.
3) New storyline opportunities
When you bring a character back, he or she naturally brings new story possibilities, too. We’ve already seen that with Nikolas and Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) latest returns. It would be interesting to see how Lucky’s reappearance would shake up the canvas.
Since there have been some Lucky mentions over the last few months, we can’t rule out his eventual comeback. Would you like to see Lucky in Port Charles again? Would you be willing to accept a recast if need be?
