General Hospital Spoilers: Mass Firings at GH, Cyrus Forces Major Hospital Staff Shakeups – Who Gets the Boot and Who Gets the Blame

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that some huge changes are about to go down at the hospital. Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) deal with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) set off a terrible chain reaction – one that could send shockwaves and cause several Port Charles residents to lose their jobs.

Valentin’s agreement with Sam left him in control of her kids’ voting proxy, so that combined with Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) tiebreaker vote led to an ELQ takeover. Of course, Valentin was also able to make sure ELQ didn’t bail out the hospital – and that gave Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) another angle to work for power.

Now Cyrus is the chairman of the board and whatever he says, goes! General Hospital spoilers say major trouble’s brewing at GH, so let’s look at some fall preview info. Here’s what GH Co-Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor had to say in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest.

“Cyrus may have taken over, but he knows that he does not have the support of the rank and file,” Van Etten and O’Connor teased. “Anyone who works at G.H., their job is not necessarily safe. And if the hospital is not safe, then who in Port Charles is?”

That brings us to some other General Hospital spoilers for the week of September 7-11. It looks like the fall drama will kick off a little early based on some new tidbits.

On September 8, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) will demand answers – and Sam will blame herself. Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) will also feel the need to see how Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) is doing.

It sounds like Cyrus will lower the boom with mass firings. Kevin’s job could easily be cut since Lulu will seek him out to check on him. The fact that Sam will blame herself isn’t a good sign either. Sam may feel like if she hadn’t made that deal with Valentin, then everyone’s job would’ve been safe at GH.

On September 9, Jordan will get into a heated confrontation with Cyrus – presumably over his sudden staff changes at GH. Meanwhile, Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) will blast Valentin, so it’s obvious she’ll hold him responsible for this on some level.

Will Bobbie’s job be on the chopping block as well or will she just be outraged over her friends and coworkers getting the boot?

Franco Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will rush to Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) defense on September 10. Perhaps Cyrus will fire Elizabeth for not being a team player – well, HIS team player anyway. That could leave Franco furious and give him a reason to step up for Liz.

On September 11, Liz will express remorse – perhaps for running her mouth or refusing to accept Cyrus’ terms. Elizabeth might be sorry since a job loss would put her family in a real bind. Franco and Liz’s financial issues have become a hot topic, particularly since Cameron Webber (William Lipton) will need money for his college tuition soon.

September 11 will also bring worries from Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy). Epiphany will fret about the state of the hospital following all these shakeups. If Epiphany’s forced out, the place may fall apart! We all know Epiphany runs a tight ship.

On the bright side, it looks like Cyrus’ firings will be what leads Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) back to GH. General Hospital spoilers say Britt will first show back up on September 11, so she may be a replacement who’s urgently needed.
