General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) may be on the verge of getting everything she wants – almost anyway! Nelle would prefer full custody of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), but joint custody would still be a major win. If Nelle can just have her say in Wiley’s life and split the time raising him, that’s huge considering everything she’s done.
Although Nelle wouldn’t be thrilled about sharing her son with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), it’s better than Michael and his family having full control. That’s exactly what Nelle hoped to avoid when she pushed Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) to trade babies with her that fateful night.
Nelle got away with the baby switch for now and seems poised to raise Wiley right along with Michael.
Of course, Nelle will also gain a mother once the necklace dots connect and she’s brought in the loop. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) already mentioned her search plans and got Nelle’s support on the idea. Nelle insisted Nina’s daughter would see what she sees – and that’s the gold standard of moms!
Since Nelle is in fact Nina’s biological child, she’ll presumably have her son AND a parent who finally cares about her. That’s another big win for Nelle, but what about the true love? Is that something Nelle will ever find?
Nina’s a romantic at heart and wants to believe good things can happen. She seemingly sees the potential for Nelle to be a great mom and a better person.
Nina may want to help Nelle settle down with someone she actually loves and can build a life with – a more suitable father figure for Wiley. Julian Jerome (William deVry) is Nelle’s husband for now, but this marriage obviously isn’t going to last.
Nelle blackmailed Julian into it for the custody battle, but this isn’t a love story. It doesn’t seem like a situation where sparks are going to fly at all.
The last time Nelle ran into Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), she made a bold declaration. Nelle suggested that if she wanted Chase, she would get him. Chase felt like Nelle was delusional, but was she really?
After all, everything else Nelle wants is starting to fall into place. With Nina on her side as a matchmaker, is there any way Nelle will be able to reel Chase in?
It’s not like there are a ton of options on General Hospital at the moment. The Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) ship has sailed somewhere far, FAR away. It’s flat-out lost at sea at this point! Nelle actually had some chemistry with Chase in their steamy fake flashbacks, so GH might want to take advantage of that for a new story.
Chase would put up a fight, but it’s easy to imagine Nina rooting for these two. Nina might have some reservations since she believes Chase cheated on Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), but that’s tame compared to Nelle’s long list of offenses.
Perhaps Nina could reflect on all the times Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) won her back – especially if he wins her back again down the road. Nina might feel like Chase is indeed getable as a love interest for Nelle. She could coach her new daughter on how to make amends with Chase and pull him closer.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Nelle would succeed, but it’d be fun to watch her try – especially with her insistent new mom playing Cupid. Nina pushed Michael and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) together, so why wouldn’t see push Nelle and the good detective together?
Nina would probably see Chase as just the man Nelle needs following her inevitable divorce from shady Julian.
