General Hospital Spoilers: Phyllis Caulfield Drops Twin Bomb on Nina – Two Heart Halves Meant for Sisters Willow & Nelle?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the ABC soap has left the door open for a major twist in Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter storyline. Let’s look at what we know so far. Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) had the other half of Nina’s heart pendant in the flashbacks when she was a kid.

GH writers have also confirmed that Nelle is Nina’s bio daughter in multiple interviews, but that doesn’t mean she was the only one. Consider some of Nelle’s most recent faceoffs with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Nelle insisted Carly was supposed to be her SISTER! This indicated a sister was something Nelle felt was missing in her life.

Plus, we know Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) has had her own tumultuous relationship with Nina, which previously led fans to suspect she might actually be Nina’s long-lost daughter. The show kept that possibility alive through Willow’s peculiar reaction to Nina’s necklace along with the bonding they’ve been doing lately.

Nina and Willow went from foes to friends, so that could be another path toward giving Willow daughter status. As for the necklace reaction, it almost seemed like Willow recognized it – though we know Nelle had her own when she was just a wee little Nelle.

However, we can’t forget that Nina’s own pendant half didn’t surface until the start of this storyline. Nina’s half may have been in Willow’s possession many years ago, which would explain why it looked familiar. This idea of two hearts is far more appropriate for twins than a mother and daughter.

That brings us to Phyllis Caulfield, the woman who was Nina’s nurse when she awoke from her coma. Phyllis’ name was on the receipt Nina tracked down, so she was also the person who requested that the heart pendant be separated into two halves. Is that because Nina had two babies?

If so, Nina’s mystery could become even harder to crack! She might find out she’s looking for two long-lost children, not just one. That’s great news since Nelle may be dead.

We’re still convinced Nelle’s the pest that just won’t rest and won’t be surprised at all if she shows up alive. Still, there’ll inevitably be a period of time when Nina believes Nelle is dead – and who knows? Nelle might be. Regardless, it’d be nice for Nina to have another daughter to give her some hope.

If Willow is Nelle’s twin, just imagine how complicated that’d be for Willow, too. Before Willow embraced her role as Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) new mother, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) suggested she could be like an aunt to Wiley.

Willow is preparing to adopt Wiley now, so plans changed. Nevertheless, that might’ve been a crucial hint from General Hospital writers. If Willow is Nelle’s twin sister, then she’s actually Wiley’s aunt – and that would explain why she’s always felt so deeply connected to Wiley like they were actually related.

Once she’s found, do think Phyllis Caulfield will drop a twin bomb on Nina? Could Willow and Nelle be fraternal twin sisters? We’ll offer updates as other GH details become available.
