General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) still sees the potential for a romance between Jason and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Over the years, many fans have noticed how Carly often comes first in Jason’s life – sometimes even before Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
Just a few months ago, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) went on a tirade about how Jason puts Carly and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) above everything else.
However, the bond between Carly and Jason is particularly strong – so much so that Burton feels like Jason could be Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) stepdad eventually!
Burton addressed that possibility in a segment on the That’s Awesome podcast he releases with Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli). Eden McCoy was a guest they interviewed recently, so they got her take on the whole Jason as a stepdad situation. “That’d be weird,” McCoy admitted.
Still, Burton pushed McCoy to consider what might play out if Carly and Sonny’s relationship ended. “If something happened with them, the door might open for me and your mom one day,” Burton suggested.
After McCoy put a little more thought into it, she confessed she couldn’t decide whether she’d like it or not.
Although Carly and Jason’s friendship is an exceptionally close one, there’s no romantic interest on either side at this point. There’s also the matter of Jason’s relationship with Sam and Carly’s strong marriage to Sonny.
Even if General Hospital tore those romances apart, would Jason really betray Sonny by getting together with Carly? It’s tough to buy it, but you never really know in the soap world!
Burton at least acknowledged Jason and Carly’s future romance as a possibility, so it’s worth mulling over all the drama that’d bring.
Sonny certainly wouldn’t approve – and a lot of his family would surely back him up. Of course, social media would be a nightmare. It’s safe to say there’d be plenty of people who were very much NOT on board.
For now, “Jarly” will remain a distant possibility, so “CarSon” and “JaSam” fans can probably breathe a sigh of relief.
