General Hospital Spoilers: Storylines Change on New Episodes – What’s Cut, Delayed and Sped Up Once GH Resumes Production

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that several storylines may have to change once the ABC soap resumes production. Of course, GH fans may be wondering which ones and how much! Let’s consider where some hot plots left off and where they’ll go next in new General Hospital episodes.

For starters, there’s Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) upcoming nuptials. General Hospital spoilers already suggested that the longer it took to plan a wedding, the more likely it wouldn’t actually happen.

It’s possible Anna and Finn’s ceremony was never going to come together anyway, but now a big wedding’s definitely out.

Since GH can’t shoot large group scenes, the show will have to make other plans. Finn and Anna could still have a very private wedding if that’s how General Hospital wants to take this.

Anna and Finn could even just exchange vows alone and suggest they’ll go to the courthouse later. However, the Peter August (Wes Ramsey) drama could just rev up and shut this wedding down entirely.

General Hospital also seemed ready to get something going in the teen love department, but that plan should be on hold in new episodes. Since kissing and touching are out, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) may have to pine for Cameron Webber (William Lipton) from afar.

Meanwhile, Cam can wrestle over who he likes more, Joss or Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla).

The overall idea of the teens’ storyline may not change much, but we may not see much movement without the physical aspects of romance. Likewise, Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) death may be handled differently than GH initially planned.

Again, large group scenes aren’t possible under the new safety protocols, so Mike can’t have a big funeral with lots of loved ones. A better solution might be quiet moments of grief after the funeral’s already happened off screen.

As for Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan), they may take longer to push past their latest obstacles. Neil and Alexis have lost their careers, so it seems like they’re dealing with some resentment.

Was this shot at romance really worth the cost? It may take Neil and Alexis longer than they expected to figure that out.

What about Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) demise? Will that death still be undone? Time will tell, but Tristan Rogers has interacted with fans about possible changes in that story and others. If plans for Samms’ return as Holly fall through or have to be delayed, that could certainly affect things.

Meanwhile, Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) and Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) mother-daughter bond may take some time to build. GH could easily decide to intensify the conflict soon after new episodes resume.

It’d be better to put emotional distance between Nina and Nelle to explain the physical distance. Nina will want to hug her new daughter if they’re on good terms, so clashing is a better option.

Regardless, General Hospital will have to find a way to balance safety, drama and solid storytelling on new GH episodes. We’ll deliver updates as other GH news rolls in.
