General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) has an obsession, which has been difficult for her to get past so far. It’s clear that Charlotte’s hung up on this idea of Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) being together. Could there be a way forward for Charlotte? Is there anything that could change Charlotte’s mind?
Let’s consider the situation here. Charlotte was happiest when her papa and Nina were together – especially at idyllic Wyndemere with Butterscotch and anything else Charlotte’s heart desired. Charlotte’s world got ripped apart right along with Valentin’s when he lost his Cassadine status.
It’s been rough for Charlotte ever since, especially since Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) been so insistent on keeping Valentin at a distance. GH could certainly put Valentin and Nina back together down the road – and they probably will.
However, they shouldn’t reunite as a way to appease Charlotte. That’s something that’ll have to happen after Nina’s heart heals enough to potentially trust Valentin again.
In the meantime, could there be another intriguing pairing option for Valentin? One that might appeal to Charlotte under the right circumstances? We’ve seen a humbler, gentler Valentin since Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) swooped in and shook up his world. Valentin’s character is changing somewhat, so that could be important.
Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was practically Valentin’s biggest cheerleader in a recent chat with Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan). Now Laura Collins (Genie Francis) is seeing Valentin’s softer side and praising him as a father. Lulu seems poised to accept that Valentin’s good for Charlotte, particularly after this latest Crimson crisis.
There’s a good chance Valentin and Lulu will find some common ground and connect as coparents. Tolerating each other will be a step in the right direction. Could it also be a step toward a love story? Stranger things have happened in Port Charles!
It’s a classic soap trope for two characters who hate each other to fall in love. Of course, it’s also typical for soap parents to end up together. Sharing a child is often something that bonds them, especially when that child is struggling like Charlotte.
This would probably take care of that Nina and Valentin reunion obsession, too. Charlotte would probably get on board with having her bio parents together. Plus, this could bring all kinds of juicy drama. Just think about the potential of a secret romance that eventually goes public.
Although people like Laura and Maxie have been softening toward Valentin somewhat, they’d think Lulu was out of her mind if she became a couple with him. Couldn’t Lulu use a love interest like that? No offense to Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), but watching his relationship bloom with Lulu is like watching paint dry.
Lulu needs a messy romance with some real fire in it. Someone dangerous like Valentin could bring the heat! Their contentious history could fuel their passion and set up so many soapy complications. Could you see General Hospital writers putting Valentin and Lulu together? Should unexpected sparks fly for Charlotte’s parents?
