General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, September 9 Recap - Cyrus NOT Behind Neil's Death - Ava & Julian Look For Nelle Letter

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 9, reveal that Bobbie Jones (Jacklyn Zeman) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) got caught up at the Metro Court. Bobbie was feeling particularly raw about having been fired by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

At a nearby table, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) joined Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight). Valentin wanted intel on Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier), but Martin wouldn’t cough up information.

Soon, Bobbie rushed over and blasted Valentin for handing the hospital over to Cyrus. Suddenly Brick (Stephen A. Smith) materialized and quipped that Valentin probably deserved it. Bobbie took off, and Brick and Carly enjoyed a drink together at the bar as they innocently flirted.

Over at their table, Martin and Valentin sat back down, and Valentin shared that Julian Jerome (William deVry) had come to him looking for Martin. Valentin guessed that Nelle had some leverage on Julian that was in Martin’s possession. Martin didn’t disclose what he had, citing attorney-client privilege.

At Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) house, Alexis questioned whether Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) was a drug user or not. Alexis lamented that she never saw any signs of addiction, and Julian attempted to help, but he only seemed to make things worse with his comments. Alexis told Julian to leave, which he did.

At Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) place, Sam lamented to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) that Cyrus was in control of GH and that it was her fault. Jason wouldn’t come out and say that Sam was to blame – in fact, he said that Sam had acted in good faith and that she wasn’t responsible for Valentin’s actions.

Soon, Julian called Sam saying that Neil had overdosed, and that Alexis needed Sam. Sam and Jason took off.

Back at Alexis’ house, a cop arrived to collect the syringe that Neil supposedly left under the bed. Sam and Jason arrived shortly thereafter. Sam tried to get Alexis to come home with her and Jason, but Alexis wanted her privacy.

Sam and Jason left, and later Alexis sat with a glass of water, briefly imagining it was a shot glass of vodka. Alexis sipped the water, telling herself “one day at a time.”

Back at Sam’s place, Sam apologized for signing over the kids’ voting proxies to Valentin. Jason reiterated that it was over, and Sam seemed upset.

At Cyrus’s place, Cyrus innocently asked Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) who Neil was. Jordan fumed that Neil had no prior history of drug abuse, and that he had overdosed much like her old colleagues supposedly overdosed.

Jordan asked if it was Cyrus’ drugs, and Cyrus played dumb, then he started badgering Jordan about how her work for him wasn’t done yet.

After considerable back and forth between Cyrus and Jordan, Cyrus mentioned Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) and the shame that Jordan brought to his family, which unnerved Jordan. After Jordan left, Cyrus talked with someone on the phone. Cyrus asked the person to find out where Neil got the drugs that killed him.

At Charlie’s Pub, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), Cameron Webber (William Lipton), and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) entered, and Trina stepped away. Josslyn told Cameron that she knew about his kiss with Trina. That made Cameron uncomfortable, but soon Portia Robinson (Brooke Kerr) interrupted looking for Trina.

Trina was over at the bar talking with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) about putting in more hours at the gallery. Portia approached and wanted a moment with Ava, then she told Ava that they needed to talk.

Portia said that it was good for Trina to have something positive to focus on at the gallery, but that she’d be keeping an eye on her daughter. Ava understood, and after a little back-and-forth, Portia and Ava left things on decent terms.

Trina returned to Cameron and Josslyn, as did Portia. Soon, Portia and Josslyn stepped away, and Cameron told Trina the he couldn’t believe that she told Josslyn about their kiss. Josslyn returned and suggested that they all three go to the big dance together. The teens agreed to make it a threesome.

Julian walked in the bar and briefly talked with Ava. Julian filled in Ava on how Nelle left a letter detailing all of his misdeeds. “Until we get that letter, I’m living on borrowed time,” Julian said. Julian explained that Martin had the letter, and that Ava was going to help him steal it from Martin.

Outside the pub, Portia ran into Jordan, and the two women talked a bit about Trina, and then Portia wanted to clear the air about Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner).

Portia said that just to be clear, she had no designs on Curtis, and the women shared a chuckle over that. Jordan made a slight misstep during the conversation when she referred to Taggert in the present tense, and Portia said that she sometimes does that too when referring to Taggert.

At Martin’s law office, Julian broke in while Ava stood watch. Ava was supposed to text Julian if anyone approached. Soon Martin and Valentin approached, and Ava couldn’t get a good cell signal, so her text to Julian didn’t go through.

Ava ended up pulling the fire alarm, which gave Julian a chance to escape. Julian told Ava that Nelle’s letter wasn’t in Martin’s office.

Later, Martin and Valentin got in Martin’s office, and Martin had Valentin sign some paperwork. The camera panned over to Martin’s open briefcase. Nelle’s letter sat inside the briefcase.
