General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of July 6-10 tease that we’ll see more classics centered around Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his children. In this batch of encores, there’s danger and destruction along with some tough times for the Corinthos clan. Sonny’s forced to work through some complicated issues as well, so let’s dive in and see what GH fans can expect.
On Monday, GH is throwing it back with an episode that first aired in 2008. Sonny plans on making some changes to leave a legitimate legacy for his kids – something that isn’t soaked in blood.
He wants to take steps to keep his children out of danger, but it’s too late when Michael Corinthos (then Dylan Cash) takes a bullet meant for his father! Naturally, Sonny’s horrified by the terrible twist.
Tuesday’s GH classic is one that originally aired in 2010. On the witness stand, Michael gives a gripping account of what happened when he killed Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Joy Brown). Michael recalls grabbing the axe handle after hearing Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) scream.
Michael insists that when he realized Claudia was trying to kidnap Josslyn Jacks, he swung the axe – only thinking of preventing his baby sister’s abduction in that moment. Once Michael’s confession is complete, the judge charges him with manslaughter and announces a sentencing date.
General Hospital’s going to jump ahead to that sentencing in Wednesday’s 2010 classic. The judge determines that Michael should go to prison despite his cooperation. Sonny feels he’s responsible and deserves the punishment, but it’s Michael who pays the price when he’s sent to Pentonville.
Thursday’s episode features some great scenes from 2011. In this throwback, Kristina has been injured following a bus accident. She gets a visit from concerned Sonny at GH, who consoles Kristina over the loss of her friend. Sonny doesn’t want Kristina blaming herself for the difficult outcome.
On Friday, General Hospital’s going to wrap things up with another Kristina and Sonny classic. This 2016 encore features Sonny grilling Kristina about the older woman he caught her kissing.
Kristina tells Sonny about Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones) and opens up about her uncertain sexuality. Although Sonny struggles with what he learns, he ultimately assures Kristina that he loves her no matter what.
