The team left Enoch. They left him behind in 1931 and they followed the next launch window. They thought it would lead them home. They instead went to 1955. They went to an area called Groom Lake and it was within walking distance to Area 51. Which means their flying aircraft fits right in. The team incidentally frightened a couple of kids who witnessed their ship flying and so the team has learned something. They learn they have to be up in the air when the next launch window happens or they risk crashing again. They were lucky that no one was harmed in the latest jump. They were also lucky to be a part of an age of innovation. Men were thinking about putting someone on the moon and it was easy for the team to kidnap one of those men.

The team still had one mission. They had to stop the Chronicoms and so they’ve been following them through space and time. The Chronicoms went to 1955. They seem set on stealing a space weapon and so the team was ready to stop them. To do so, they had to get to this weapon first. They kidnapped a man and they sent in Coulson in his place. Coulson was able to access Area 51 by pretending to this man and Simmons followed him by pretending to be Peggy Carter. She was able to forge some documents for both of them. They now could access the secret space program and they didn’t have to worry about being caught out. The first thing they did was get a tour around the building.

Simmons’s childhood dreams came true when she got to see the beginning of technology. She always dreamed of seeing Area 51 and she couldn’t really be doing so now because she was working. She and Coulson had to find the Chronicoms. They tested the scientists that came in. They tested them to see if they were human and capable of human reaction. They got those reactions when they pushed the scientists. The scientists were therefore clean, but there was also a group of VIPs coming in for the day because there was supposed to act as witnesses to a field test and one of them happened to be the real Peggy Carter’s former partner. He came in expecting to see his old friend and he found Simmons.

Daniel Sousa was a problem. He knew Simmons was a fake and he cornered her. Simmons was alone. She and Coulson had split up with her staying on at the research lab and him going to question the VIPs. Agent Sousa, therefore, was to pick them off one by one. He got Simmons arrested and then he went after Coulson. They were both arrested. Sousa was going to get them both and so Daisy stepped in. Daisy stepped in as a CIA Agent. She told Sousa how she knows everything and she convinced him to tell her what he knows about the pending project. Daisy was busy getting Sousa to talk and the rest of her team was back on the ship interrogating their prisoner. Their prisoner who happened to be quite good at interrogation.

Gerald Sharpe worked for the Department of Defense. He’s trained people to ward off interrogation and so SHIELD Agents couldn’t break him. Especially not agents who weren’t white. It was still 1955 after all and Sharpe wasn’t going to respect agents who were Black, Asian, and Latina. The team eventually had to send Deke in. Deke was white and Sharpe naturally assumed he was the communist in charge. Sharpe believes he had been picked by up Russian Agents who are trying to steal American secrets. He thinks the whole team is Commies and he wasn’t afraid to call them that as well as other more sensitively racial things. Sharpe didn’t respect them and so they had to send in the white guy.

Deke tried to persuade Sharpe that it’s all been a charade. He told Sharpe that they were testing him to see if he would break and Sharpe didn’t believe him for a second. The team couldn’t get answers for him. They chose to ignore him and he used that to his advantage. Sharpe was plotting his escape as the team was finally making head waves in finding the Chronicoms. Daisy helped Coulson and Simmons break out of their cell. They trapped Sousa there and then they tried to stop the Chronicoms. Only they were too late. The Chronicoms started the project known as Helios and they were going to power it with their own technology as well as something called Ion Fusion Reactor. The Chronicoms needed to be stopped.

The team’s first concern was clearing the area. They didn’t want anyone getting caught up in the blast and so they advised everyone to drive away as fast as possible. They then focused on Helios. May and Yo-Yo drove out to the device where they ran into a Chronicom. They battled her and unfortunately, there was a second Chronicom at the research lab. Coulson was forced to battle him while Simmons and Daisy tried to hack into Helios. They tried to stop it from taking it off or becoming the weapon that the Chronicoms would use. The women worked together and they were able to cause a blackout. This blackout prevented Helios. It also destroyed the Chronicoms that were on the field and sadly it also stopped Coulson.

It seems to have stopped all technology. Coulson was, unfortunately, a casualty of what Daisy and Simmons did and he was short-circuiting.

Mack and Deke also returned Sharpe to the timeline by making him think he was abducted by aliens, but now everyone thinks he’s crazy.
