Meghan Markle Broke Royal Fashion Rules - See Where She Went Astray

British royals news reveals that Meghan Markle may be breathing a sigh of relief in recent weeks. Despite dealing with some of the difficulties that come with life in Los Angeles, which apparently includes drones invading the mansion where she’s staying with Prince Harry and Archie, she hasn’t had to deal with royal dress codes since she and Harry stepped down from their royal duties.

But then again, Meghan didn’t exactly follow all the dress codes in place when she was a senior member of the royal family. According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Meghan was spotted frequently violating the on-the-books dress code, and it all started early on when she and Prince Harry announced their engagement back in November 2017.

Royal watchers and photographers noticed at the time that Meghan Markle wasn’t wearing pantyhose when she and Prince Harry stepped out in front of the world. Meghan wore a beautiful white coat with bone-colored shoes for the now-famous photographs…but no hose.

One commentator at the time said: “You never see a royal without their nude stockings. Meghan, from what I can see from the engagement photographs, it doesn’t look like she was wearing tights or stockings.”

Another royal no-no for women is wearing pantsuits, but Meghan has worn pants for numerous royal engagements. Royal tradition states that women must wear skirts or dresses while performing royal duties. You just don’t see Queen Elizabeth wearing pantsuits at royal events, for example.

Even when it comes to nail polish, there are strict guidelines about what colors royals should wear – only a neutral color will do. Yet, Meghan has been spotted in deep nail colors before, such as when she was a presenter at the Fashion Awards back in 2018. Meghan’s nails were a rich wine color at that time.

Finally, Meghan Markle has been spotted on many occasions when she wore the color black from head to toe. Yet this is technically considered inappropriate unless one is in mourning or attending a very serious service, such as a funeral or memorial service.

Of course, some rules are just made to be broken, and we can’t see that Meghan went seriously overboard on any of her rule-breaking choices that we outlined above. They were seemingly minor infractions and weren’t anything inappropriate or extreme.

We should note, too, that Meghan Markle’s style is something that’s often talked about in a positive fashion, as she’s made several best dressed lists in the past. So, she’s clearly doing something that’s working, but at least now she doesn’t have those pesky royal rules to think about! Be sure to check back here at CDL for more British royals news and updates.
