A woman was abducted in full view of Sebastian and Patton. They tried to intervene. They tried to rescue the young woman and Sebastian was thrown down several stairs when the kidnappers fought back. He was left pretty banged up. He had broken his ribs and he suffered from contusions as well. Sebastian had to give his team the details at the hospital. He was going to be there for a couple of days and so he couldn’t work the case. He had to leave it up to his team. The team later learned the kidnapping victim was Nora Moncado. She was an only child and she had no family or grudges in her file.

She was a security specialist. She works for several companies shoring up their security and she was in town for a conference. Nora seemed normal. Only normal people don’t get kidnapped and so Patton kept digging. Patton felt bad about what happened to Sebastian. He wishes there was more he could have done and so he stepped up with running a background search. He soon found that there were secret payments made to Nora from a shell company. He now knows that she was involved in something nefarious and if that wasn’t enough there was another government agency on the case. Khoury and Carter went to check Nora’s rental. They were looking evidence when they ran into DIA.

DIA is taking over the kidnapping of an IT Consultant. They won’t discuss why they were taking over because they were claiming it involved National Security and so Khoury put the pieces together. She connected DIA with Nora. She realized Nora was one of them and that the DIA was using shell companies to hide what she was really doing for them. Khoury put all that together. She asked Agent Winchester about it and he wouldn’t confirm or deny. He did, however, tell her that her case was over and unfortunately Pride agrees. Pride said that the DIA has the case handled. He knows that the team has a past with Winchester and he still wanted them to let it go.

Winchester was a “Swooper”. He waited while others did all the work and he swopped in at the last minute to take all the credit. Winchester first did this to Khoury several years ago in Africa. She’s been holding a grudge ever since and so she wanted to keep this case. She said Sebastian was hurt because of this case. They owe him answers. Khoury wanted to find out what happened to Nora and Pride shot her down. Pride said the same agent that demoted her was leaving NCIS. This guy was going to put on a show when he left and Pride didn’t want Khoury to be hurt because of it. Pride told the team they were dropping this case and that was the end of it.

But it wasn’t. Sebastian was there of the kidnapping and he said Nora didn’t handle herself like an agent. She screamed when she was kidnapping. She also didn’t put up a fight and as an agent, she would have been trained to handle herself. Sebastian had thought the kidnapping didn’t make sense. He went over footage from the day and he found evidence of it being staged. He found Nora had checked out the location of her “kidnapping” several days before. She even spotted the van she would later be thrown in. Nora had planned the whole thing and so Sebastian told Pride and Pride told Winchester.

Winchester hadn’t wanted to believe it at first. He almost led his team into an ambush and it was Pride that stopped him. Pride was able to get through to him. He convinced Winchester to pull his men at the last minute and they all escaped an explosion together. The explosion was set up to make it look like Nora was did. It was a lie. Nora was still alive and it seems she was a mole. Nora was the human lie detector. She worked at the DIA investigating other agents and Winchester asked her to find a mole when he spotted evidence getting in the wrong hands. He didn’t know it was her the whole team.

Nora pretended to be looking for the mole. She came to New Orleans saying the evidence led her there and secretly she has been trying to get out of the DIA. She was selling information to China. She wanted to get out of the DIA and so she had to fake her death. She also had to kill Winchester because he was the only one that knew what she knew. She couldn’t afford to leave him alive because then he might have figured everything out and so her last thing before her disappearance was supposed to kill him. The team stopped it in time. They saved Winchester’s life and he in return put them back on the case.

The team went looking for Nora. They weren’t sure if she left the country yet and so they tried to find out how she was contacting her Chinese handler. Patton later found how. He found out that Nora was saving messages in her email under draft and that her handler was deleting them upon reading it. This left no paper trail. It also would have been the perfect way to exchange information if Patton hadn’t found out about it. Patton even found the last message and he decoded it. He revealed to the team that Nora was thinking of handing over “Monolith”. Monolith was a program that didn’t exist because if it did it would monitor every DIA spy across the globe.

The team needed to stop Nora before she put hundreds of lives at risk. They tracked down her handler and they used the handler to find who else was in on it. This is how they found out about Travis Hayes. Hayes owns several small planes and he put in a flight plan for Belize. This was most likely Nora. She often vacations in the Caribbean and so of her course, her escape plan would involve that location. Nora thought she could retire in the sun after selling out her country. Her escape plan seemed to only have one problem. There was a weather storm in the Caribbean and so her flight was pushed back by a day.

This gave the team all the time they needed. They track down the plane and they kept it from taking off. Only Nora wasn’t on the plane. She wasn’t traveling like a regular passenger. She was being taken down to the Caribbean in a crate and it was Khoury that found her. Khoury found her and arrested her and yet Winchester took the credit. He swooped in. He also pretended to have no knowledge of Monolith and so this was a great day.

NCIS couldn’t take credit for the win, but they still celebrated in style like they normally do and surprisingly Khoury didn’t show.

Khoury instead met up with Winchester and she asked him to investigate the NCIS agent that was after her.

THE END!
