Tonight we are taking a trip back to 2016 when Ben Higgins was the bachelor. Ben broke one Bachelor rule, twice. He told two women that he loved them. His greatest fear is being unlovable.

We begin with the night of the arrivals, Amanda is the first girl out of the limo. Lauren B. is a flight attendant, she brought him a pair of wings. Caila runs into his arms. Maegan shows up with a pony. Jojo shows up with a unicorn mask and twins. Ben thanks all the women for coming, and Mandi steals him. One by one the girls continue to steal some moments with him.

Caila is one of the women that really caught Ben’s eye, and on their first date, they drive around LA with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. When the two men are asked the most romantic thing they have done for a woman, Ice Cube says he married one, Kevin says he cooked some fried chicken in a crockpot. Next, they go to a spa store, and they all get into a hot tub. Kevin thinks that he and Ice Cube are helping Ben seal the deal with Caila.

Twins Hailey and Emily are quirky and love to have fun. They live together, have the same job, and share a car together. They describe themselves as a whole lot of double trouble.

Jubilee is going on a date with Ben, she joined the military since she was eighteen years old. She has major anxiety letting people getting to know her. She was born in Haiti and adopted when she was six, she was in an orphanage before she was adopted and it was rough. Ben loves that Jubilee trusts him enough to pour her soul out to him. She goes on to say that she had a bad past, but she came out ok and she likes who she is. Her whole family died except for her, and she deals with a lot of guilt. She is the only surviving person in her bloodline. It’s a tough one on one, Ben likes who Jubilee is and gives her a rose.

Ben is on a group date when they come upon a private island, and they notice there are pigs in the water. Some of the bigger ones are little aggressive, and the women run.

When Lace met Ben for the first time, she kissed him right on the lips, she wanted to be the first. Lace continues to come off strong, and Ben looks more awkward as time goes on. She ends up apologizing to Ben for her very bold personality. On and on, she keeps interrupting Ben and being very dramatic in her conversations with him. In the end, Lace sends herself home.

Joining Chis H. from her home in Denver is Lace. She says she ruined everything from the first kiss onwards with Ben. She says it took a long time, but she is a whole different person and she is proud of who she is. He thanks her for taking the time to be on the show.

Next, we see Olivia’s journey with Ben, he had an immediate attraction to her and believed that she could be someone that he could be with. Olivia says she felt electricity with Ben. She didn’t care about anyone else’s relationship with Ben, but hers. The other women did not get along with Olivia and thought she was full of crap.

In one episode, she jumped out of a cake in a Vegas sparkly bikini and feels like she made a fool of herself. She apologizes to Ben and tells him that she wants to start over because she is so embarrassed by her performance. She professes her love to him when they are on a beach. He tells her that he cannot reciprocate those feelings and tells her goodbye. She never saw this coming in.

Olivia joins Chris H. from her home in Austin, Texas. She says that Ben was who she thought he would be and they had a strong early connection. There was a time when she felt a strong connection, but other connections were stronger and hers began to dissolve. On the second group date, she felt like it was going south with the other women.

Immediately after, she tried to watch the show and she was too mortified and hurt by what the women said about her. She says there was so much pain, she felt bad that she hurt people, and seeing what people really thought of her and what they were saying was really hard. A lot of it was deserved, but a lot of it was ruthless. She was ashamed of herself and embarrassed and didn’t want to go out. She spent a lot with her family and friends and went to therapy.

Chris has a little surprise for Olivia, it is Ben, from his home. Ben tells her that on night one he only wanted everyone to leave the show having a great time. The way that he navigated the issues on the show could have been better, to help her. And he wants people to know that she is a Rockstar and laid her heart on the line for love. He apologizes for everything that happened to her, says he takes responsibility. She says everything is fine, and she appreciates him saying what he did. Chris H. thanks both of them for being there. Olivia says she feels like eighty pounds have been lifted off her chest.

Next, Ben heads to a carnival in his home town with Amanda. The spark was there with these two from the beginning. She is someone that Ben was interested in from early on. She is a single mom of two children and she missed them a lot when she was on the show. She reveals to Ben that she has to daughters, 2 and 3 ½, he says kids don’t scare him, even though he hasn’t done them before. Together Ben and Amanda make hair barrettes for her girls. They to the beach, the two girls are there and Amanda introduces them to him. Ben does really well with the children, Amanda falls in love with him, but in the end, he sends her and chooses Jojo over her. He walks her out and tells her that he is going to miss her a lot. Amanda doesn’t really say anything, she was at a lost for words.

Ben says that Caila was honestly one of the most beautiful women he has ever been with, she has a smile that lights up the room. His only worry was that she wouldn’t open up to him. On her side, she says she is afraid to open up and get her heartbroken. Her mother tells her that time is precious and she should tell Ben how she feels about him. Ben and Caila sit down, she tells him that she is in love with him, he kisses her. In the end, Ben tells Caila that he is love with two women, he knows it is hard in the end because he will have to say goodbye to one of them. Caila says there is no reason to stay, she leaves.

Caila joins Chris H. from her home, she thanks him for having her back. She says she has grown so much since then and it taught her a lot of lessons. After filming, she packed up and moved to New York City and followed her dream as a lifestyle blogger. She is engaged to an incredible man, Nick. Chis H. welcomes Nick to the family. They met through one of his best friends at a bar. He says he watched a couple of seasons of Caila’s season, he thought she was super cute.

Chris H. checks in with Dean and Caelynn to see how they are doing. She says they have traveled the world together after leaving paradise. Dean says Caelynn embraced their van life with open arms. Now, the two are living together. Dean has a ring on his wedding finger, Chris H. asks if they are married. They don’t wear wedding rings, they wear rings to show they are committed to each other. Chris H. wants to announce them, husband and wife, they all laugh. Chris H. says that at the very least he is going to list them on his win list. Dean gives Claire advice if she meets a guy who lives in a van gives him a chance.

Ben is down to the final two, he is on a date with Lauren B., he is very attracted to her. He looks at her with googly eyes, like a schoolboy running after his crush. At dinner, she tells him that she really likes simple things. Ben feels really real with her, she has this genuine joy in life and feelings just keep growing for her. Their bond grew stronger and stronger as the show neared the end. The two end up telling each other that they each other.

Jojo is Ben’s other finale, two girls. Ben had instant chemistry with her, she is outgoing and fun. He finds he laughs more when he is around her, and confident. She says she came into this thing and told her that she was going to be open-hearted and let her guard down. The two undeniable chemistry. Jojo tells him that she loves him and she was so terrified to tell him. Ben tells Jojo that he loves her too, she is genuinely shocked by him saying it. She was so afraid to say it in case he didn’t feel the same way. Jojo says it is the best day of her life and she has zero doubts when it comes to him.

Ben has now told two women that he loves them. In the end, he has to say goodbye to one of them. But, he can’t help how he feels and it’s impossible to think he has to say goodbye to one of them. Towards the end, Lauren was feeling Ben’s stress and her confidence was slipping, she was afraid that he was in love with Jojo and she can’t see living without him. Ben is so confused and it is tearing him apart. Jojo is also scared, she suspects he is in love with both of them. At this point, both women are afraid of losing Ben. The night before the final day, Jojo is very upset, she has a huge fear of losing him. Ben feels awful, he doesn’t want to be the man to break a women’s heart that he loves.

It’s decision time. Jojo is first to meet Ben at the alter on the beach. She recounts their journey, on how she fell for him, and no matter what, it was worth it. She goes on to say that he is her best friend and she loves him with all her heart. Ben says with her it was real, always. And, he found love with her and someone else more. He goes on to say that he doesn’t want to say goodbye, he does love her. She pulls away from him and says she is so blindsided and hurt. He walks her out and tells her that nothing about this makes sense. He says he wishes he could explain it to her and make sense of it, but he can’t. Jojo gets in the limo and leaves. Jojo wishes she could hate him, but she can’t.

Chris H. welcomes Jojo from her home in Dallas, Texas. Jojo says she felt like a little girl when Ben told her that he loved her. Then she found out that he loved Lauren as well and she couldn’t understand that, it was like a kick to her stomach. She says that once she cried it out, she was ok. And, she was friends with Lauren, and she was happy for her. Chris H. tells her that we will be reliving her season of the Bachelorette next week.

Ben could have married Jojo, but he loves Lauren more and knows that love with her is a love that he cannot lose. Lauren is standing in front of Ben. She tells him that coming into this she didn’t know that a love like this exists, and he is the person that she wants to spend the rest of her life with and she loves him. Ben says he came into this feeling honestly unlovable, and now they have gone through this journey, and it is full of goodbyes. And, he doesn’t want to ever say goodbye to her, he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Ben gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him. She says yes. They both say they are the luckiest people alive.

Ben joins Chris H. from his home in Indiana. Ben says he is going really well. Chris says they are going to rip the bandaid off, Ben is known as the man who told two women that he loved them. Ben says that is how he felt, he cannot help that. In the end, it didn’t work out with Lauren. Ben says when it started it was excited and exhilarating, then things faded and there was pain and hurt. Lauren is married now and he is happy for her. He says he is still appreciative of the time that he spent on the show. He is engaged now to a beautiful person named Jessica Clark, Ben brings her to the screen. Ben says that if he wasn’t the Bachelor, he would never have had the nerve to reach out to Jessica on Instagram.
