The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that it’s time to think about where this whole mannequin plot is headed. Is it really just a way to show Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) has gone off the deep end again or could there be more to the story?
Let’s consider B&B’s goal here and try to figure out what the writers are up to.
For starters, we should acknowledge that a clip of The Bold and the Beautiful went viral after one of Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Zoe Buckingham’s (Kiara Barnes) early “kisses.”
It was retweeted by a lot of huge stars on Twitter – and Jimmy Fallon even poked fun at the mannequin make-out on The Tonight Show.
You know B&B Head Writer and Executive Producer Bradley Bell had to be loving all the attention. To be fair, it’s good for The Bold and the Beautiful in a way.
Although many people were roasting B&B, there was also an understanding that they’re just following safety protocols and trying to put on a decent show with all the restrictions. Any news is good news if it gets people to tune in.
Now that Bell has included a mannequin as part of this story, it seems pretty obvious Thomas is going to end up making out with this Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) doll.
Thomas might even end up hitting the sheets with it – or at least, you know, doing what he can do considering it’s a doll and not a real person!
Now let’s consider Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) relationship. They went through a little rough patch recently due to Liam getting territorial over Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Liam backed off since Hope felt he was being disrespectful, but it’s an issue that could build to more problems.
During the week of October 26-30, Hope will have a hard time balancing her struggle. Between tackling all her duties at work and rounding up all the kids, Hope will have a lot on her plate.
As Hope’s stress level rises, it could lead to more tension with Liam. B&B seems to be laying the groundwork for more “Lope” drama.
So how might Liam and Hope’s conflict fit with Thomas’ mannequin story? Could there be some situation where Liam witnesses Thomas kissing or making love to this Hope doll from afar – maybe even behind a curtain or something along those lines?
Will Liam mistakenly assume Hope is having a cheating affair with Thomas?
It just seems like if the show’s going to the trouble of making a creepy Hope lookalike mannequin, it’ll ultimately be confused for the real thing. It fits with the show leaning into the mainstream media attention about their mannequin stand-ins.
It could also serve as a way for Liam to spout off accusations or cheat with someone due to the misunderstanding. Thomas may manage to blow up Hope and Liam’s relationship through this doll, so stay tuned to see how it all plays out.
