The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will try to convince himself he’s fine on his own. On the October 23 episode, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) determines that she’s disposable and will always serve as a runner-up to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
After listening in on Adam’s conversation with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilsuso), Chelsea insists “Chadam” is finished for good.
During the week of October 26-30, Adam will lean into the idea of cutting people from his life. Perhaps Adam will try to tell himself he’s better off without Chelsea – especially since Adam really does seem to want Sharon more these days.
Whatever the case, Adam will further isolate himself by cutting ties with the Newman family and trying to fly solo.
However, that’s sure to be a lonely life for Adam. We know Adam can be impulsive, especially when it comes to Sharon. Y&R has been downplaying Adam and Chelsea’s history lately, but it matters. Part of Adam’s heart may always belong to Sharon, but part of it’s always going to belong to Chelsea, too.
Chelsea is the mother of Adam’s child and someone who stood by him during dark times. Adam may remember all that thanks to a potential looming crisis.
The Young and the Restless fans will recall how Chelsea hit her head after that elevator fall at Chancellor Communications. It was kind of a random injury – and it was quickly followed by Chelsea doing something strange and irrational.
Was that head injury part of why Chelsea wanted to spend time with Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare)? Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) felt like Chelsea was losing it – and maybe she is!
It’s true that holding Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) baby had an effect on Chelsea, but why? It was just so bizarre for Chelsea to suddenly want to be in Johnny’s life when she never cared before.
In the October 23 episode, there’s also a moment where Chelsea grimaces and grips the side of her head. It seems like maybe Chelsea was injured more than she thought when she took that tumble.
Adam put Chelsea in danger by not filling her in on his plans that night. He was behind the power outage that led to Chelsea climbing in that elevator and falling.
It seems likely Chelsea will go off the rails a bit now that she no longer has Adam as her anchor. Y&R has set up the possibility that Chelsea might do something drastic like try to kidnap Johnny.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will find herself cornered during the week of November 2-6, so her abduction attempt may be thwarted.
Regardless, Chelsea might be on the verge of spinning out and collapsing. Since Chelsea appears to be battling headaches and is dealing with severe emotional distress, it feels like a no-brainer to give her a scary hospital crisis. It’d be the perfect way to remind Adam of how much Chelsea means to him.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Chelsea would forgive Adam and take him back, but we could at least see Adam wrestle with what he feels for Chelsea and regret blowing things up.
Some heartbreaking hospital scenes would be a good way to go here. Adam might sit by Chelsea’s bedside and hate that they ended up in this situation.
