The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) have finally reunited. Of course, it seems like “Brooke and Ridge reunite” has practically become a monthly spoiler!
Since it’s obvious B&B wants to make Ridge and Brooke each other’s destiny, is it time for them to cut out all these pointless breakups?
Out of all the soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful is the one that features the most romantic shakeups. Sometimes that can be a good thing since it creates drama – especially for the younger characters who don’t need to be tied down to one person just yet. It’s better to let them mix things up and play some love triangles.
However, Brooke and Ridge aren’t teenagers anymore. If B&B’s so big on destiny, then why don’t Brooke and Ridge accept the inevitable? How many times will fans have to watch them split over some misunderstanding or betrayal just to forget about it a month or two later?
There’s no point if Ridge and Brooke are just going to get back together anyway.
Instead, maybe this is one area that B&B needs to take a cue from other soaps on. Over on Days of Our Lives, they have John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) – a real deal couple that’s in it for the long haul.
Marlena and John know they’re each other’s soulmate by now, so they don’t let anything destroy them anymore. The drama comes through tackling challenges together.
Likewise, The Young and the Restless has Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Although Nikki and Victor used to break up frequently, they’ve ditched that at this point.
Nikki eventually had to accept who Victor is as a person, and now they seem pretty solid no matter what crisis lands in their path.
Should B&B get at least one major couple like that? Maybe Brooke and Ridge should be that couple since they always wind up reuniting. Brooke has had enough romantic conquests for a lifetime and none of them ever measure up to what she feels for Ridge.
Similarly, Ridge can never stay away for long. He always comes back to his Logan again and again…and again and again.
Perhaps The Bold and the Beautiful should just make Brooke and Ridge their steady powercouple and ditch all the games! Would you like to see Ridge and Brooke actually stick together this time? Are you tired of all the “Bridge” reunions?
