The plan seemed impossible, at the beginning. Sure, Shauna was infatuated with Ridge. She saw him as the ideal man and had no problem telling Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) as much.
Instead of dissuading Shauna, Quinn consistently encouraged her best friend from Las Vegas, Nevada, to pursue Ridge, who was married at the time. But Kaye’s character was linked to Quinn’s enemy, Brooke, and that made all the difference in the daytime world.

If not for that much-discussed and often replayed cabin kiss, Shauna wouldn’t have been able to fly to Vegas with Ridge, text Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), under the pretense of being her soon-to-be-husband, and then get legally married at a friend’s wedding chapel. But this unlikely sequence of events happened just like that.
Brooke suspects that something is off, purely because Quinn is involved. Add to that Shauna’s open pursuit of Ridge for many months, along with the over-drinking issue, and Shidge seems like the fraudulent union that it is.
The fact that Brooke appears to be down and out makes her a threat. Being underestimated gives her the opportunity to fly under Quinn and Shauna’s radar.
Quinn has calculated that Brooke has no direct knowledge of the shady steps that led to Shauna becoming the new Mrs. Forrester. Quinn is right, but also overconfident.
Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Ridge Forrester Being Lured Into Love
Ridge hasn’t fallen in love with Shauna. But he’s intrigued by her and is willing to give this marriage a chance because he believes the seventh edition of Bridge is over. It is, but an eighth marriage is absolutely possible in the general future.
While Ridge’s head is turned toward Shauna, Brooke’s mind will focus on Vegas. She will pursue the facts where they lead her and like all motivated investigators uncover whatever tidbits of truth exist.
Even Quinn has acknowledged that the plan she hatched hinges on all secrets remaining buried. But Brooke, or even Ridge himself, is bound to unearth the tiniest of details that sparks the climax of this compelling arc.
