The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) will make his long-awaited comeback during the week of August 3-7. Where has Thomas been and what’s he been doing?
Is Thomas over his Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) obsession and ready to be a good father? Matthew Atkinson answered those questions and more in a new interview with Soap Opera Digest.
For starters, let’s address Thomas going MIA after the wedding. Many B&B fans hoped Thomas was off seeking mental help, but it seems Thomas opted for self-care instead. Atkinson talked about Thomas doing soul-searching and attempting to figure things out.
“He’s been traveling around and trying to find himself,” Atkinson said. “He has had a lot of time to think about what he did, and he’s in a different headspace now.”
However, Thomas hasn’t lost touch with his family during his time away. He’s been having offscreen phone conversations with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) – one of which should inform him of his sister’s accident.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers confirm that Steffy’s crash is what brings Thomas home. Despite Thomas’ many mistakes, family is always going to be important to him.
Of course, Thomas’ most important family member is his son, Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri). It turns out Thomas has been staying in touch with Hope and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) regarding Douglas, too.
As for Thomas’ previous Hope infatuation, Atkinson hopes that’s a thing of the past. He acknowledged that Hope’s always going to matter to Thomas due to how long they’ve known each other and her bond with Douglas. Even so, Atkinson thinks Thomas can move on – perhaps with a new love interest or with another former flame.
“But I think there is definitely the ability for another woman, maybe someone he already knows or maybe somebody new, who could eventually hold a much bigger part of his heart,” Atkinson insisted. That’s something plenty of B&B fans are counting on as new Bold and the Beautiful episodes continue.
