Tonight’s episode of The Chi opens with Keisha with her captor, he bathes her and feeds her. Ronnie is getting baptized. Emmett is at work, his boss is giving him heck for not closing or opening up properly.

Trig and Imani get an unexpected visit by Social Services. Trig doesn’t like the questions; the woman tells him to fix a broken outlet and she will be back in two weeks.

Jake, Kevin, and Papa meet at a restaurant, Jemma texts Kevin and says she is on her way, Jake is annoyed. Kevin gets up to meet Jemma, Papa tells Jake they have to embrace the relationship with open arms.

Keisha is left on her own, but she is being watched by a camera, whatever move she makes, the camera follows her. She has left a bedpan to use if she has to go to the bathroom, she takes it into a storage type of room to pee and notices there is another camera there, and a microphone, her captor tells her to smile for daddy.

Jada goes to a party with Tomaz to meet his family and makes a blunder about his ex-wife who passed away.

There is a blackout in the city. This is good news for Keisha if she can move fast and get out of where she is being held captive.

Emmett is bandaging up Dom, she hurt her hand.

Kevin, Jemma, Papa, Maisha, and Jake are exploring a building when the blackout occurs and scares the teenagers.

Imani is afraid of social services, she doesn’t want to mess Trig’s chance of getting Jake, she packs her things up to leave. She explained that when she was sixteen years old her dad caught her in drag and pulled a knife on her. She tried to run, but he caught her and started choking her, she knew right then it was either going to be him or her, and it wasn’t going to be her. The cops saw the bruises on her neck, they know it was self-defense, but she has blood on her hands and no social worker is going to let her near children. Trig tells Imani that he loves her and doesn’t want her to go anywhere.

Keisha is trying to break free, she ends up trying to break one of the windows to get out, but she is hysterical, crying, “help me.”

At Sonny’s, there is a party going outside as Emmett and Dom took the food outside on the BBQ.

Kevin and Jemma head home, but it is dangerous out in the dark.

Ronnie fives grandma out in the street, he sits with her. He tells her that he just got baptized, she says again, she claims to have taken him when he was a baby. Then she says his momma was a whore and his dad was a loser, so she baptized him so God would always watch over him. Then he asks her if that girl is still missing. She says she is not worried, he will find her.

Jada and Tomas leave the party, she asks him why he didn’t tell her about his ex, he says he didn’t want to freak her out. Then he says that she wanted him to find love again, that was her final wish.

Papa and Maisha are at Sonny’s, he says he wants her to be his lady, he will treat her like a lady and always pray for her. She says they got to be equals. He asks her to dance, on the dance floor, he gives her a quick kiss. Kevin and Jemma are there as well, they are dancing, Emmett sees them and smiles.

Jake is Perry who is teaching him about saxophonist Von Freeman, A Chicago legend. Perry goes outside to confront a man who spray-painted his mayor campaign yard signs, the man tells Perry he is nothing like Harold Washington, Perry beats the man to a pulp, Jake runs to Trig and Imani’s apartment.

The owner of Sonnys shows up and he is not happy that he and Dom are making chicken for the neighborhood, and making money. He tells Emmett that he is a disappointment and to get off his property.

Keisha gets out, but pauses on the lawn and gets taken back inside by her captor, but Ronnie is in the neighborhood and hears her screams.
