Tonight on FOX their new medical drama The Resident airs with an all-new Tuesday, April 7, 2020, episode and we have your The Resident recap below. On tonight’s The Resident season 3 episode 20, “Burn It All Down” as per the FOX synopsis, “Just when Derek’s condition seems to be improving, a severe complication arises, causing Kit to fear that he may be the latest victim of Cain’s cover-up.
When Cain’s former girlfriend is admitted to the hospital for surgery, the doctors finally get a glimpse into his personal life. Meanwhile, Conrad fills in Marshall on the emergency situation facing the hospital and Mina and The Raptor work on saving the heart of a salsa dancer.”

Irving assesses a man in the ER who has hit this head. He is with a female and is embarrassed when he admits he has a defibrillator. Kit updates Bell and Conrad, her son and law are doing well. He is now breathing on his own and talking. They all head into the room with his wife and kid to see him. He tells them he cannot see, he begins to panic. Bell orders a CT right away.
Nic looks at a patient who has been experiencing jaw pain. Nic touches her jaw and she begins to shake in the ED. She calls for help. Meanwhile, Conrad reports back to Kit’s son in law, he has an infection. He tells the family that they cannot go in the room. Off to the side, he tells Kit that he has a strain of infection that is known as a superbug.
Irving’s patient has been admitted. AJ looks over the patient who has a defibrillator and seems to hate his age. He had an issue while dancing the other night, its his profession and it’s all he knows.
Conrad tells Kit that her son-in-law does, in fact, have an infection not only in his eyes but in his blood.
Nic and Devon speak with her patient who had jaw pain. She has an infection and needs surgery. They show her the CT scan. Caine comes in. He knows her. The two talk. Nic can’t stand his fake charm. Later, Nic finds out that her patient went to college with Caine.
Kit and the team head to see her son in law. He feels hot and uncomfortable. They want to kill the infection. Their best bet is to inject it into his eyes.
AJ and Mina speak to their patient. They think they will be able to help him return to dancing.
Nic talks to Caine about their patient. He tells her that this is a special woman to him. Meanwhile, Conrad shares that Kit’s son in law has Septic shock. He tells her to take a break. She reluctantly leaves the room.
AJ and Mina begin work on their patient to get him back on the dance floor again. Kit’s son in law is rushed to the OR. The infection is spreading.
Caine pays a visit to his college friend. He holds her hand and comforts her. Conrad and Bell bring him information about Kit’s son in law. He has an abscess in his spinal column. Caine insists he can do the surgery and that of his friend.
Kit and Conrad watch Caine perform surgery on her son-in-law. Bell enters the OR to support Kit. Caine isn’t happy.
Nic is with her patient who begins to seize. Caine begins to have trouble in the OR. Kit’s son in law begins to bleed out but Caine cannot find the source. Caine and Bell finally stabilize him. Caine is called to another OR to help his college friend. He runs there. Her patient is tanking. He performs CPR.
After surgery, Kit’s daughter and granddaughter rush in to see her husband. He is stable and out of surgery.
AJ’s patient admits he won’t be returning to the dance floor. It breaks AJ’s heart. Mina walks by to see them dancing together. Just then AJ’s date comes to see AJ. Mina talks to her for a bit about their date and how she is meeting AJ’s parents. Mina walks away looking a little jealous.
Conrad meets with his dad. The superbug is gone. Later, it is al over the news that Chastain was trying to keep secret a superbug. Lee and Caine argue with one another. Lee heads to see Conrad. He wants to get rid of Caine and he wants Conrad to be the star now.
