The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is bound to spin out after he realizes Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is right. Adam led to AJ Montalvo’s death when he was a boy, so he’ll have a lot to work through. As a result, Adam may end up feeling like he’s not good enough for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan).
Although the AJ incident happened when Adam was a kid, Adam’s probably going to see it as when his dark side took over. Adam has often worried about that dark side and whether he might pass it down to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
This is only going to rev up familiar concerns for Adam and leave him feeling like he’s always been a monster.
However, we want to focus on Chelsea and how this might affect her relationship with Adam. Chelsea knows exactly the kind of man she married, so she won’t be bothered by this AJ revelation.
In fact, Chelsea already suspects Adam’s truly responsible. When Adam shared the story of Victor’s “lies,” Chelsea’s reaction told Y&R fans everything they needed to know.
Chelsea now seems concerned about what this will do to Adam if it turns out to be true – and it obviously is. Although Chelsea will try to be there for Adam, he may shut her out. Chelsea will surely keep offering support, but Adam might do something drastic to push her away.
If Adam thinks he’s a terrible human being who doesn’t deserve Chelsea, he might sleep with someone else to prove it. Adam may feel like he has to hurt Chelsea to show her that’s all she’ll ever get with him – pain and destruction. Perhaps Adam will think betraying Chelsea is the only way to set her free.
Could Adam cheat and leave Chelsea heartbroken? Someone like Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) might be a good option as Adam’s bedroom buddy, particularly since it’d pull Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) into the story.
Then again, Adam could hit the sheets with a brand-new Young and the Restless character or even Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) after her recovery. There’d be plenty of intriguing options to consider. Regardless, Adam’s trauma should take a toll on “Chadam” and could set up major trouble!
