The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Adam’s Battle With AJ Murder - Horrifying Memory Recovery of Killing Alyssa’s Dad?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could go on a big soul-searching journey when the Y&R action picks back up. As Y&R viewers know, Adam has just heard from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) that he was responsible for the death of Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) father as a young boy. Right now, the story seems completely unbelievable to Adam and as just another way for Victor to try to deflect blame for committing murder.

Of course, from Adam’s perspective, it probably does seem far more likely at this point that Victor is lying than that he’s telling the truth. After all, Adam doesn’t have overt memories of killing AJ Montalvo, and he thinks that if he experienced something that horrible and traumatic, then he’d surely remember doing it. Adam just doesn’t want to believe it’s true, and all the evidence (in his mind, anyway) points to Victor committing the murder, not him.

But when Adam told Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) about Victor’s claims, viewers could see that Chelsea was seriously concerned that the whole story about Adam killing AJ could be true.

Chelsea tried to cover her concerns, but it seemed very strange to her that Victor would make up a story about Adam killing a man and then repressing the memories of the event.

One wonders how long it will take Adam to come around and wonder whether he actually has the memories of killing AJ buried deep within his subconscious. It might take some time, given how resistant Adam has been to accept anything that Victor has to say, but Adam may get to the point where he wants to try to remember what happened at the time of the murder.

Adam has said on the show more than once that he doesn’t have clear memories of what happened around the time of AJ’s murder, and of course one reason for that is that he repressed the memories because they were too difficult for him to process as a young child.

And if that’s the case, then Adam could seek to recover his memories, perhaps through a therapist and/or hypnosis.

If Adam does have the memories of killing AJ buried deep within his psyche and they eventually do come out, then it could be quite traumatic for him to deal with.

Viewers might ultimately see Adam have to face the shock of what he did because he’s forced to relive it as the memories come back to him. But Adam will probably want to push through the pain so he can know what really happened.

We’ll see what happens here, but something tells us that Adam is going to want to know for sure whether Victor is telling the truth.
