The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy Accused of Attempted Adam Murder, Shooting Chance - Chelsea Goes For Johnny Custody?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that some wrong assumptions could work in Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) favor. Y&R fans know Chelsea’s become rather fixated on the idea of scoring some visits with Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare).

That’s been mentioned so much that the writers have to be going somewhere with the Johnny angle.

Last month, Chelsea once made an ominous comment in the heat of the moment. She insisted that if she’d known how vicious Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victoria Abbott (Amelia Heinle) would turn out to be, she never would’ve let them adopt Johnny.

Chelsea could easily return to that stance in the coming episodes.

That brings us to those wrong assumptions we mentioned. The cops will zero in on Billy as a suspect in Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) shooting soon. Billy may be accused of aiming for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and hitting Chance by mistake.

It looks like there’ll be some manipulated or at least misinterpreted evidence that points to Billy’s guilt.

Naturally, The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest another character should be guilty – maybe even Chelsea herself. Regardless, Chelsea could use Billy’s legal troubles to go after custody of Johnny.

If Billy’s facing attempted murder charges, he’s not exactly going to look like great father material to a judge. Billy can’t be a dad to Johnny if he winds up in prison anyway.

That still leaves Victoria, but she has a reputation that could be dragged through the mud, too. Chelsea certainly doesn’t have a squeaky-clean past, but neither does Victoria. Just think about all the shady things Victoria’s done in the last few years.

Victoria helped bury what she believed was JT Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) dead body, lied to the cops for months, planted a spy cam in Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) apartment, threatened to pin JT’s murder on Tessa then kidnapped her, covered up Billy’s attempt to mow down Adam… The list goes on and on!

A good lawyer might be able to make the case for why Victoria is an unfit mother without too much trouble. That’s especially true if a bribed judge is involved or there’s some old adoption snag that pops up.

Adam might help Chelsea as a way to make things right between them. He seems pretty rattled now that Chance has been shot, so Adam might hope for a path forward.

Bottom line, we know Chelsea is becoming increasingly obsessed with forming a Johnny bond. We also know Billy will land at the center of a major investigation. It feels like the puzzle pieces are going to connect, so Victoria may end up battling Chelsea for Johnny custody.
