The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) may eventually have another reason to bond. Y&R fans know Rey and Chelsea are already stuck in the same “Shadam” therapy boat.
Neither one of them’s thrilled about Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) helping Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) retrieve his memories and work through his trauma.
Of course, Rey insists he’s mainly concerned about Sharon overexerting herself. It’s true that helping Adam has already been draining for Sharon. However, Chelsea is clearly concerned about more than that. The bond between Sharon and Adam has always been strong, so this storyline is clearly setting up some trouble.
After Chelsea follows Adam and ultimately Sharon to Kansas, there’ll be a bombshell waiting for her when she arrives. Chelsea might find Adam locking lips or catch them in some other emotional moment. The point is Adam and Sharon are already growing closer again. This may not end well for “Chadam” and “Shey.”
It might be hard for Rey to bail on Sharon under the circumstances. If Sharon kisses Adam, Rey might argue that Adam took advantage of the situation and give Sharon a pass since she has cancer.
Naturally, Rey wouldn’t be so forgiving if it happened again. It could make Rey decide to take a step back and just let Adam be there for Sharon if that’s what she wants.
Sharon might even dump Rey herself if she feels like he’s only staying with her out of obligation. As for Chelsea, she’ll be furious if Adam betrays her with his former flame.
Although Chelsea will understand that Adam’s a mess over this AJ Montalvo nightmare, a betrayal is a betrayal. Chelsea tried to convince Adam to lean on her instead, but he’s been adamant that he needs Sharon’s help.
Rey and Chelsea will essentially be going through the same thing. They’ll deal with their partners being drawn to an ex – all while a very traumatic situation makes it difficult to walk away. In Sharon’s case, it’s a breast cancer battle. In Adam’s case, it’s the weight of remembering his role in AJ’s death.
Could Chelsea and Rey seek comfort from each other in the aftermath of Sharon and Adam’s betrayal? If “Shey” and “Chadam” break up, will Rey and Chelsea potentially get together? There’ll be no shortage of opportunities to connect, so we’ll see if “Chey” turns out to be a new romance on The Young and the Restless.
